I killed off most of my pop on ultra until food goes back down I put it all to commercial for now. that much for food would make me go broke

For a.miners perhaps. For virals, 15 is generally the max they will pay.

yea, 25 is usually the absolute max that most people will buy (at least for the short term), and usually that`s either post UW prices or if there are a bunch of medium sized taxers (under 60 planets) and only a couple big food producers on the server with a few smaller ones, and one or both of the big food makers decides to VM for a week. ^_^

income / food consumed = price I can pay and break even
11,842,652 / 271,685 = 43.5896424

Think about it this way warp. Lets imagine that an empire is breaking even between the food he buys and the people he taxes (not saying you break even just giving an example).

Now factor in the 2500% increase to your revenues from all that delicious loyalty.

But I`m sure its not all that great, so don`t feel bad my guardian friends.

LOL. Wow. Warp... you really have no idea what you are talking about. Tax miner is about the single most profitable income stream in GC unless the food market is completely empty. Even buying at 25 Islander makes huge quantities of cash...
