your population must have grown or you must have allocated infrastructure to push you over the 5000 pr limit. It would not have shown you above 5000 pr unless you had logged in /out or had built ships since pop growth/infra allocation...

it is technically impossible unless a bug happened where you get hit the moment you disband

like i said its still possible and it did happened on me =P

you cannot be countered while in n00b protection. You don`t know how many guards and marus would be dead if you could

its still possible you can be countered in NP though ;P

Going off of what Ragnarok said: if you want to avoid nasty enslavers and counterattacks you could drop under Newbie Protection (4,999 power rating and below) where you cannot be attacked.

Do take care that your population does not grow and push you over that limit however... maybe logout and back in to make sure you are in fact under protection before you leave.

5000k is not. Simple as that. =P
