Damage Protection question

Reading the manual and other information on here I see DP last 24 to 48 hours depending on certain criteria. So how do certain empires show DP lasting 171 hours as one empire shows right now? Is it some kind of cheat? I`ve had entire fleets worth 80% of my Power rating wiped out, lost 3 planets out of my 4 and still only get 48 hours of DP.

To clarify what GM said... what you said is not possible, Fubar. In order to enter vacation mode, one must not have attacked another empire within the last 24 hours. I have never seen somebody get around this restriction, but perhaps it is possible.

24 hours dp on fast, ultra, and RT. 48 hours dp on normal and slow.

Keep in mind in Vm, since your dp is extended you cannot do anything, Your turns are set to 0, you do not get anymore, you cannot attack, use the market, can`t do anything.

If you attack someone You Have To Wate 24 Hours Befor It Will Let you put Your Self In Vacation Mode

Thanks Starseeker. Half of the empires that have ever attacked me must put themselves in vacation mode after doing it to prevent a counter attack. If it`s legit I`ll start doing it.

It is Vacation Mode. You access it from the `Options` Menu across the top. If you know you will be gone from the game beyond what VM will give you, an admin can extend your DP even further.

Thanks Ishamael. It makes sense, but if that is the case, I hate how some people use it. I was attacked a few days ago while exploring planets. I built a fleet to counter attack and the empire went into DP for 140 hours in the 2 minutes it took to build the fleet.

I am on the Normal server. I just went through 50 ranked empires and found 8 with over 100 hours DP. One of them was 191 hours. I`ve seen this on all servers.

what server are you on
You can go into Vacation mode thats where you can go into DP for days at a time but you have 0 turns while your in VM

Different Servers Have Max Dp Per Hit
RT Server is 24 Hours
Dont Know About The Rest

they are in vacation mode and cannot act or even participate in the game when their dp is past 24-48 hrs..
