Ok...i have 2 other colonies besides my home planet. My power is still below 5000 but if i get one more planet it will be over and i wont have protection anymore. So if i get over 5000 on power would you recomend i get ships to defend my planets and is there a way to keep them only on defense so it doesnt mess with my income?

before venturing out into battle make sure you have your ships researched first and a strong income, stick with your mission. whe you build a fleet you can keep track of how much it cost you in your income box at the top of your screen

I strongly suggest you build about 10 garudas. Your income should be able to hold that (if it`s not, try plundering your planets and getting bigger ones)

your homeworld will not be captured by others so you do not have to mind protecting it,
but if you want to explore for more planets, than it is suggested that you have a small defensive fleet, just don`t let your income go negative
