Ok...i have a planet that has quite a bit of ore on it but no i cant build any housing cause i used all the available labor. is this planet pointless to keep or is there a way to get the ore off of it. And what is the point of plundering?

Building housing = more labor. You should build just enough labor to fill up your planet (see max. pop).

If you already have no free labor but still have extra land, try destroying some other infrastructure to free it up.

You mean you built up all the available land not labor probably, If you wish to mine ore quicker, build more mining infrastructure, that will make you mine more quicker. Its good to mine when your a young empire and sometimes old, that way in the long run you dont have to buy ore on the market.

Plundering clears that planet spot, so you no longer will keep that colony/planet.
