Another point is once mineral miners reach max credits (or near) they stop selling minerals... I know I have... Now i`m just storing them. So unless I spend a load of cash on ships, i`m not really a main mineral producer in the sense that i`m not selling...

Here`s an idea for you. Put reasonable limits on the market. 1 million ore, 20 million in minerals. You`ll find, shockingly, that the prices of minerals will drop dramatically because there is actually an excess of production, people just buy minerals so that they don`t hit the maximum in cash. :P

Supply & Demand is a nasty business, its either over or under supply, demand only seems to stop when supply is over doing it. Some odd reason people just like buying out the market, however it seems when they reach MAX storages or No cash left to buy they get discouraged from trying to buy out the market. This game gots an unbalanced system that doesnt work extremely well on RT. Minerial & ORE market are good signs of that plus the old goods market which does vary a good bit.

The reason being that there is way more supply than demand to the point that even speculators aren`t buying any more or trying to get rid of the food they bought.

yea. Look at fast, food is cheaper than CGs right now and it doesn`t look like this will be fixed any time soon.

There isn`t a min price that works for all servers. :P That`s the point. It`s about supply and demand.

Mac we have seen the market drop below 500$ about a year ago, its easy to say it can happen again. all natural drop as well

All the "problems" with the market seem to just be another aspect of the game. The bm was an excellent idea and it has solved some shortage problems. If people want to transfer minerals to make their allies money there is still the risk of someone snagging it before the intended person. I don`t think its a very serious problem :S.

There are no market dynamics on RT collective1 lol... there is hardly a market ;P

300 credits should be a good lower limit for minerals. How about food? 5 credits? Like the idea of not being able to post way below the current price as collective1 stated, but think that 75-100 credits under current price would be enough. A default price when nothing is on the market is also a good idea.

I think an absolute bottom cap has the potential to mess up market dynamics, and may not be effective in preventing market transfers.
Instead, changing the range of prices that you are allowed to post them at could be more effective - maybe change the bottom cap on minerals from 500 below to 25-50 below...this way, it would take a while for the price to be lowered, and this process could easily be interrupted by others. Also, for times when there are none on the market, set the default price on the mins at 1000, ore at 10000, cgs at 4 - the way the current system is set up, some people may accidentally sell mins at 0...

Yeah in my opinion 300 should be alright even for slow.

and its something that shouldnt trouble stephen too much to sort out , all you guys need to do is work out the min price that works for all servers and then get it to ste`s attention :/

Mac GC is not RT. Minerals are fairly cheap on more than a few servers.

I intercepted a transfer the other day, bought about 5mil minerals for 0. I think it`s certain people giving fedmates cash to build up high... Why not just change the cap on minerals from 0 - 1000 to like 700 - 1000, since minerals hardly drop below like 800...?
