ruby and torum suck.. plain and simple... nerf L. Emerald honestly... i lose to that thing no matter what ship i build... its GODLIKE!

why remove careful attack ?, i wuvs it.

i see where Ish is getting at on the careful attack taken off from all other races cept maybe guard .. would minimize spamming .. nerfing ruby/torm a bit and enhancing the other ships in their arsenal would make stacking a lot easier .. which i never found as a guard (mainly used neutrals-which should be used as a substitute .. not like the real set of ships.. plus using neturals makes guards easy targets aswell). And the thing about virals making plenty of cash at 200mil++ is another big imbalance that should get looked at (not flaming virals, but it pretty much makes virals top dogs of the ranks once you get the hang of viral type stacking etc)

Commenting on guard:
Nice shiney race perfect for spamming because of the ruby/tourm. And they are MEANT to be spammed just because the G class ships have the same damage but are way weaker(some of them have energy damage too, but quite not enough). SO, nerf ruby/tourm a little bit, give guard a pure energy ship or two(one with same range as herc, higher hull and lower damage, the other one with higher damage, longer range than herc and lower hull). Switch around shields a bit and you will have a very nice and balanced race to play with. I am not saying other guardian ships are totally useless, I am just saying that at the current state it`s pointless to use them as all you need is ruby/tourm(and I just won 16 battles in a row spamming just that on fast, 6 of which on defence...).

archang3l, i dont think you can comment much on guard ships given the poor utilization you demonstrated on me :P

collective1, it may seem very unfair looking at guard ships and never experiencing game play with them. I have a guard account on fast currently and my base power rating without any ships at all is already over 1 million(PR). As you may or may not know, guards rely solely on tax income and as a result, the massive population is a big disadvantage. The overpowered ruby/tourm ships are compliments for this downside.

Perseus, don`t count out other G/L ships like the G.quartz(massive hull), and I for one really like the L.garnet and topaz ships. The corundom is pretty decent as you stated. Remember guards also have the opportunity of using two excellent K class ships. Finally, strafez ships can wreak havoc on missile spammers.

There are a lot of useable guardian ships that are not ruby/li/tourm. However, what does it matter when they basically all do the exact same thing? Yay IMMUNITY TO ENERGY! And yay NON STOP KINETIC DAMAGE WITH OCCASION INTERJECTION OF ENERGY. The race is hopelessly redundant, and therefore incredibly easy to counter. THAT is the problem, not whether each individual ship is good.

I haven`t played as guardian before, but here are my thoughts, if anyone cares:
1. Agree, like everyone else, it seems...how long until this happens?
2. Disagree...I think this should be all-or-nothing despite the ranges of guardian ships (which really aren`t that bad); there are plenty of neutral ships that can be used - it wouldn`t be very fair if only guardians could use certain neutral ships on careful
3. Ruby and Tourmaline are far too powerful, and must be weakened by cutting weapon and/or hull up to 50%, and perhaps also reducing build rate.
I believe that the guardians have perhaps the best set of ships already, with absolutely phenomenal build rates. L class and G class are great ships and complement each other nicely...they don`t really need to be improved, but could add maybe 10-20% weapon on some of them (L class, more likely) to balance the weakening of Ruby and Tourmaline.

agree with knossos.. but i guess it will promote stacking for guard if other g and L ships are worth using on offensive.. garnet is ok.. emarald range is good, but weak.. topaz is useless in my opinion.. fluorite is useless too... also guard have lot of pure kinetic and kinetic energy combo ships.. will be good to have 1 or 2 ship with pure energy weapon.. also guard only have 2 decent ship, garnet and corrun with range 7.. hence guard still needs the careful attack..

knossos, l class sucks. seriously. and the only g class i used was the corundum. that was fun people spammed angel tyrs at me on aggro only to run into corundum spam xD the difference for guards is that the ships are ridiculously powerful, almost a guaranteed win with ruby spam.

I say do all of those,nerf ruby/tourm and make other ships less useless compared to them.

equip V2s with weapons to defend themselves during exploration.... a combination of long range and short range weapon system will make attackers to think twice to attack peaceful V2s on their missions...
