What is a turn?

Is it alive? How do I use them? If they were some sort of incremental metaphor

for days your empire spent doing things would their not be this ludicrous amount

of time that I would be waiting? If that were the case what sort of activities

would one suggest for this gray period? Maybe make a thread about the situation

but phrase it like it was some sort of question that I had long since concluded on

my own?

What are credits?

Credits is non-existent fantasy art money that effectively goes to fund your economy and sustain your population. Ever heard of credit cards? Same idea...except that the money printing press is taken entirely out of the picture and replaced by a computer with a special money creating program called "paint" (available in any copy of windowz), complete with copy and paste function and a random number generator program to assign each "credit" an ID number which is a string of 42 random numbers ranging from 0 to 42.

The creation of this money is made harder as each individual "credit" also has to have a relatively unique piece of "art" on each and every single one of them in order to hamper counterfeiting efforts. The credit is then "saved" as a "JPEG" file and traded around on thumb drives which have replaced "wallets" and "credit cards", although alternative file currencies exist.

This has had the side benefit of creating real jobs for artists who previously have had the nasty habit of being unemployed or only work part time a few hours a week at a low paying job. It has also had the interesting effect of making people hoard credit for art appreciation purposes, as opposed to the boring reasons of desire of power and wealth. This also explains why most empire governments prefer to keep a reserve of "credits" instead of spending it all at once and staying perpetually in debt as most governments are prone to do. In fact many of these governments have art galleries displaying the money that they have wrested from tax payers and banking institutions (also the local art galleries) at gunpoint.

The use of "paint" as part of the money creation process has turned every artist or owner of Windows into a potential counterfeiter, and also explains the real reason why Bill Gates is one of the richest men of all time.

I mean seriously, how else did he get so rich selling what everyone knows is the worst computer operating system currently on the market? ^_^

The question your peeps who live in this strange quantised world should be asking is`

"The `turn` seems to be the shortest amount of time we can measure, but what happens in between?"

The poor GC citizens can only speculate whether `God`, who is responsible for maintaining their resources etc., can see inside a `turn`. For these poor peeps there is no sex, they just think `hhmm, more peeps would be nice`, then they wait a `turn` and there they are.

Nice thread by the way :-)

no i saw your name and this question and pondered if you were hacked lol

oh BW I`ll bet you saw that thread title and just jumped in here with your cool shiny "guide" status. You were gonna lay down the "a turn is a this" and "you make credits with a that" sort of spiel. Am I right?
