well as the title says

staff will be at random posting questions in here , first to reply with the correct answer gets a random prize

this excludes guides because they smell funny and i dont like them.

so yeh be sure to browse the HC :P

well to be fair DP your wrong as the ships marus start with wont be in the Dmaru shiplist.. lol =P

Oh btw technically in your wording of your question i`m right, its not how many need to be researched it is :-

how many ships in total will they have on their completed shiplist

taking into account that D maru will be able to research maru ships and nuetral , how many ships in total will they have on their completed shiplist

this also includes the D maru being a paid user.
