mineral/ore question

I read in one part of the manual that mining infra will increase mineral production, and I read in another place that mining infra has only to do with ore.

Which is it?

Also, does mining research affect rate of mineral generation, rate of ore mining, or both?

Thanks for any help,

SLDD

You guys sure do make a lot of trouble out of a question with a simple enough answer... no need to repeat the same thing differently many times =P lol

ShammaLammaDingDong, just stick with what Sol has said, no need to look further.. (except maybe replace the `ore generation` with `ore mining` or something) =]

wrong. minerals ONLY affected by Infrastructure. mining RESEARCH affects both minerals and ore

ya, thats what Ultima said jade. Lets not just keep giving the same answer over and over by just saying it different.

Sirs,

If you increase your MINING on the RESEARCH NEW TECHNOLOGY page from Lvl 0 to Lvl 10 , you Increases efficiency by 10% for each level , or you will mine the ore 100 % faster ; each (1) Mining structure will collect the ore 10 times faster not generate ore . And if I understand Sol correctly , the generation of MINERALS ( Terran Metal , Strafez Organism , White Crystal , Rutile , Composite , and Strafez Organism ) will also increase per turn .

Please correct me if I am wrong .
U Ultima
higher mining infra will increase the amount of minerals you produce per turn and will also help extract the ore that the planet/cluster has faster.

Only impacts speed that you get the ore off the planet. Correct?
I Infernal
Mining Research, on your research page affects your Ore and Mineral generation/extraction rate.
Mining Infrastructure, aka the things you build on your planet, only increases your ore extraction rate.

and starseeker, yes mining affects ore :P by a lot
S starseeker
That still sounds a bit confusing. Ore is not generated, what you find on a planet is all there is. Once you mine it, it is gone. Minerals are produced by a planet. The mineral production rate is increased by mining research.

If ore mining is increased, I can`t imagine it would be material. I have not noticed any improvement on how fast I get my ore mined on my A. Miner empire.
S Sol
Mining research infrastructure (in the research page) affects both mineral and ore generation.
whereas mining infrastructure assigned on planets only increases ore generation.
