Collective Assimilated Cluster

Tell me again. Why is it that virals are allowed to infect c1/c2/c3 clusters and actually retain use their use, while it collective are (for all practical purposes) forced to plunder any normal cluster? I never really got that part. Are collective that uber awesomely powerful? Would the use of the terran c3 for farming assure the collective`s permanent domination of the server? Are viral that weak to collective mightiness that they need the use of maru ships and c3s to be equal and balanced in power to collective? :P

Just curious.

yea, mallow`s suggestion would be the best strategy for making such a c5. Of course, if u lose a defensive battle before u get clusters it would be a big setback, but u wouldnt die

of course PCCs really help too.............

I do not believe it is even an option anymore. under project / cluster the option is no longer available.

you wouldnt cluster down to 1 colony and cross your fingers.....

surely it would be better to cluster your final c2 then get some borders then cluster your c3 - more borders then your safe

but i will take that as a no for any collective c5`s then

The only way to do it is to get a cluster off another collective, or to get 3 borders when you`re at max cols then cluster into one col n hope you don`t die. Doesn`t seem too hard to me - just make sure you`ve got a counter when you do it ;-)

Of course if they introduced missions that`d be a way to do it....

I think that I`m one of the few collectives who ever had enough c4s to make a c5. :P

And virals never had c5s as an option, only collectives. The reason for which removing was Stephen thought it impossible to achieve. ^^;

were any collective c5`s ever made? as it seems that collectives have only ever had good enough ships to get a c5 since the update and c5s were scrapped a long time before.....

so then agri viral is possible if they decided to stick with tainted clusters? And it`s better than commerical viral in income? Crazy. Is the inability to make a c5 the same with viral as it is with collective?

Its a shame that the c5 went the way of the dodo and is more a myth than anything else in GC.

Yeah. Agri is a superior income stream to commerce even for virals, but the reason many choose other incomes over agri is because of the inability to use captured clusters.

because collectives are a plundering race, 2nd virals cant use agri on infected c2s, c3s as well.
