How does this work out?

Alright. Battle basics.

Firstly, to win a battle, you must kill at least 10% of the defending fleet.
Secondly, you must kill more PR than you lose.
Thirdly, sometimes flanks hit other dung.

None of that is applicable though in this situation, though, gaara... chlor in calc has worse shields and better damage. Looks like GY hasn`t updated it. It has 10% more damage, and -15% to ecm and ionized instead of +10% like it has now.

while defender only lost 60%. so u lose. if u lost only 59% u would of won

the way stephen programmed damage carry over might be the cause of it

Also, i notice that while the actual battle results was 2 M. Chlor being killed, the sim said 3 would be destroyed. Normally i would say the random element is that the stacks attack another stack randomly, but in this case there is only 1 stack there and all the other ships were no retal.

Well there have been updates to the game too and there have been updates to the a miner race, and sometimes minor ship changes are made that aren`t publicized or particularly noticed (this happened to collective in the early days of the collective update that introduced the MOW, brig, and R Snow where build rates and such changed but nothing was said about it). Maybe the values are a bit off somehow?

The battle sims are notoriously pathetic at gauging what will ACTUALLY happen.

there is a random element in the battle system, I`m not sure exactly where it is, but i know its there, and in a close battle it can change the outcome

the sim is not always 100% sometimes you lose, sometimes you win its random lol

the battle sim isnt always perfect - and as it is not programmed the same way as gc it will throw up different result to what would happen in game

are you sure that you attacked in the same way on both the sim and battle

it may have been that the sim was aggressive and you fouught in normal

i would like to point out in the calculation he loses 3 chlors instead of 2 thus saying you win... in other words the calculation was wrong something that is not hard to miss...
