Once it dawned on me that there was a great forum with responsive game admins watching who dispense helpful advice, I have been able to get any question answered, AND (more importantly) find answers to questions I didn`t even know I should`ve asked.

My thought is this: Is there any way that we could better help newbies by actively putting these resources under their noses, or making them go through a training mission?

My game enjoyment has gone up immensely since I got my head out of my arse and actually looked around, and I like to think of myself as a fast learner.

Feel free to flame away, make suggestions, or both!!

EXULE NOTE : The game guide sticky (or any sticky for that matter) Do NOT show up when anyone just clicks the forum link on game. You have to then click on Forum > General. Why is this? "General" should be the default setting.

Counters are not necessary for killing the lame stacks from rare.

helping newbs? lol don`t me laugh, anybody caught helping my prey is gonna get a spam in the face then watch as i sit in Np for 7 days so you get no counter yawn newbs

Bingo, UberPansy. I had to ask around from the get-go. The `manual` just didn`t give me the hints to keep going. When I started asking around at first, I got links from everyone to either to this old old fed`s old old page or THAT old old fed`s old old page, and although there is some good stuff out on the net (THe Knights Of Avalon page is exceptional), MOST of it is scattered, disorganized, and incomplete.

If someone were managing people who put together game guides, so that there was continuity of approach, presentation, and information, that would`ve helped.

But the main thing is remembering that STEEP learning curve. When I stumbled on this game, it seemed very attractive, but I had ZERO knowledge, and there was nothing OBVIOUS to turn to.

well... i think all the important resources can be posted under 420BW`s sticky thread... and it should be updated frequently incase new links are available...

This is a useful thread imo :)

The current missions should help new players learn to play the game. Though they`re not excellent for that purpose.

My experience exactly. There`s a lot of esoteric knowledge to this game, and the key is asking around. It seems to be the way with online games though.

There`s a lot of info about if you can find it - could do with someone putting it all together though...
