Can anyone offer a hint on how to stack for Guardians without K Class yet researched?
Or for Guards in general?

That`s a fabulous thought, EvilAbadayos. I had read somewhere that you should always be at a pr that puts you in negative cash before you fight, and I had also read to look for empires to attack that obviously had lots of planets relative to their pr, but I hadn`t thought of it in terms of a ratio of base pr to fighting pr.

2x? 10x is best, any lower and your crippling your ability to win
since u still does not have k class, ur empire should be relatively new.. hence your base pr should not be high too.. fighting in low pr, its easy to stack neutral ships since you do not need as much turns for to build neutral to high pr.. hence try building strafez for all those big ship.. if you have cash, add in f class and c class too :) k class is oni important when your base pr is high, and you fast ship to stack to a high pr (normally ur fighting pr needs to be 2x above your base pr in order not be vulnerable)..

Try to be unpredictable -- if you always go queen top, people will figure that out and start hitting you with strafez killers, with missiles following
The important thing to remember for Guards is that very rarely, barring other Guards, will people attack you on careful
Therefore Strafez is your best friend, and also G class
Stacking with neutrals would also be nice, but this is not really cost effective with a low guard income and high base pr
My advice wld be to always have 1 if not really 2 stacks with queens and runners, and mix it up between stacks 1-4, so if as is inevitable someone attacks you with missile class, or large hull ships i.e herc, tyr, thor, angel, etc
Even if your top stack is say , rubies, and they hit with hercs, your queens will annihalate the larger ships in the second round, and if you have dummis all the better
Also unless you are defensive, i would half to quarter spam, but full stacks on defense work wonders through the rounds systems, particularly if you have one strafez stack high (1-4), and 1 low(7-10)
But i haven;t been Guard in ages, try to Pm some big old Guards, as they know all the tricks in the books
Also fodder can still be your friend !
