actually the easiest way to go with miner is put 5 infra into industry then go all out in mining.
thats how i always play and u always make MUCH more than CG miner route...and u dont need to worry about land for a mineral miner as all planets make the same no matter if they are 2 land gases or 1k barrens. just cluster all of them and hold 2 c2`s making the minerals u want.
at the end of the day sell it all off for a few billion...easy

a few paths you can take , have a look at the racial modifiers and choose one , the easiest is CG and then go along with the missions
CG`s are made from raw material and industry
