where is the amount for the "income with sales of goods," reflected in my stats? it says i am making over 250,000 per turn "with goods" but my reserve only grows by the 36,000 per turn "without goods."

It is not wrong just that Buying Goods from the market is much better compared to you making it yourself yup
Like a Painter doesnt usually make his own paints he just have to go to a art shop to buy it yup

then why is it that everything i read tells me that terran does not need to build industry? is the information simply wrong?
You must have goods in order for them to contribute to your income, you can produce them with Industry which requires Raw Material or you can buy them off the market usually at 4$ each.
