Not all attacks give a counter

In the five years i have been playing this game i have yet to encounter this logic. Twice in the last week i have tried to counter attack empires that had attacked me. Their attacks were not enslavement attempts and in both cases they obtained 3 colonies from my borders.

When i brought this to the attention of the game admins i was first told that enslavement attempts do not allow for a counter. This was news to me as i have countered those types of attacks before. maybe something new. Wnen i pointed out that it was not an enslavement attempt but a normal get some borders attack i was advised that not all attacks give you a counter.

Has anyone else had this happen. i was sure that one of the benifits o being attacked was he right to counter within 7 days.

Ive seen a few bugs Mara, back in my terran days. Ive seen where enslavements do count as counters. As i used it the same day and i never recieved an attack since from that empire.

Then there are times when you attack a person when he/she attacks you, and when you try to counter-attack, only one person of the two gets a counter, thus you can both attack each other, but the true first person gets a counter from the attack, not both from what ive seen.

Fair enough mara, heh. I agree, I`ve never seen a bugged counter, but this game does have some weird bugs sometimes.

Darkstar : are you sure the people who "owned you" didnt restart their empires and thats why your counter didn`t work on them? if a emprie restarts..counters arent transferred over.

What the admins might have ment is you cant use a counter in a slave attempt

and counters dont glitch and bug , not one case ever heard of , an empire always restarts / counter time expires / trying to counter on enslave or such resulting in a misunderstanding of there being a bug.

I agree with deil, once on the DM server I countered ching, then he countered me on the next attack.

not to sure about conditions being the same but , sounds the same . You may have to check with the Game-Admits , if they can sort it out is not to promising so don`t get your hopes up.

Game admins are wrong... slave attempts ALWAYS give a counter, even if you had a counter on the person you used it on... so technically, two people could have counters on each other.

Sounds like a glitch... sucks, but it won`t get fixed. :(

I`ve been attacked on RT and not been able to counter immediatly after.

they may of restarted or you may of used a counter up already, check your battle logs.

ALL attacks on you give a counter. I am yet to find one that doesnt give a counter that isnt a counter already, unless your doing the UW in which case you get NO counters on the people trying to bring you down.

It may also be a server glitch, but the most likely thing is that the empire that hit you previously restarted, thus removing all counters people have on them and counters they have on people.

Check their empire age to find out how old the empire is and compare with the date from battle logs of their attack on you previously and see if they match up.

Hope this helps a little.
