I am an agri based Guardian on RT and I am doing fine. Abadayos & Arch have the right idea of strip mining when you first start.

as already stated Tax is best (im personally tax making 1.8 mill a turn) but it is a ROYAL pain to set up, though if you get lucky it`s awesome.

Agri IS good on RT only if food is at about 10 or more nad you need very large land on ferts, thus lots of gordos. You also have the classic issue of agri/market dependant empires and that is speed of item sale. Being agri is good, you CAN make alot more than tax assuming you dont get lucky on captures (in which case Tax wins out hands down with high loyalty planets + mission loyalty) but for the same land you need to do alot of digging (make gordos and then goordo up a fert) or go C2/C3 hoarding which is hard for guard due to colony space.

All depends on play style. Also strip mining SHOULD be the starting income for ALL guard until you get about 1 bill creds to fund further exploring and C2 making.



If going tax remember: DON`T DO MISSIONS TILL YOU HAVE ALL YOUR COLONIES YOU WANT TO KEEP!!!! it`s the only reliable way to get loyalty on your colonies and increase your income with.

Tax if you intend to fight at high PR (above 5 mil) or strip mining ore if your happy staying low (strip mining means a low base PR and its lots of fun :P)

agri guardian is very difficult, impossible in my opinion outside of real-time server.
it is doable on rt, but less money-grubbin than a good pop-empire.

remember if you go pop, get some nice clusters first, and then do the missions. The loyalty boost from missions is a one-time thing!

don`t listen to Maraudian, he used to pop outta nubdp, hit ppl, and disappear b4 the victim knew what happened. Its like watching golfers steal your veggies `xP

but yes tax or strip mining would be best

for a very long term empire who knows what they are doing agri is ok for guard ( tried it myself in the past , just very slow and hard to start off )

Yeah good thing with going tax is that its the best income once you get your empire up and running properly. Once that happens and you get some cash behind you, can always plunder pop to play low.

agriculture isn`t too bad for low pr guardian I hear. But if you want to fight high pr, you`ll definitely want to consider going tax and sacrificing low base pr.

agri is weird go pop

Only good incomes for a guard based on the modifiers is Pop or strip mining ore.

But definitely go Pop
