OK nobody disagreed to the proposal for viral upkeep which is this:
All RE`d ship upkeeps for viral updated to PR/1.3
Purchase cost of RE`d ships back to normal
The next step is to create a list of PMs from those in support of the update. Without this nothing will happen. Since the last thread got buried I`m creating this to try to keep some momentum in the project. To keep things simple I`ve created a template for the PMs so that it`s a simple matter to copy/paste and send to Deiloche!
Just copy/paste the title and body of the message into a PM and send to Deiloche`s ulra account. For those without accounts in ultra who don`t know - you can just open a blank PM and copy Deiloche in the `send to` field and then select ultra as the server - you don`t have to be in the same server to send it to his ULTRA account.
Plus - mass PM everyone in your fed and get them to do the same. The more names the better the chance of getting something done and not everyone reads the forum.

The point is that the game is at a critical point now. Players have been leaving faster than they have been joining, and servers like slow are pretty much dead right now, with only a couple of big feds, and only 7 total. It`s pretty clear that the game is dying and needs some fresh blood. I`m sure Stephen knows that, but the reason stated for not updating is that too many people complained when changes WERE made. That`s why Pandy and then Deil suggested getting together a majority of players in favour of updating something - so that Stephen could be sure that the update was wanted. That`s why the petition.......
starseeker the upkeep for pyth/angel is really low so lots of virals can spam these ships cheaply to really high pr. The idea is mostly to bring these into line with the other ships, but it would also reduce the cost of smaller ships and encourage stacking etc.
The point is really to get something done so we can see if Stephen is prepared to improve the game. I for one am playing without a paid atm because I don`t see the point of getting a 6 month paid when the game might not be around then. Please if you read this post then vote yes/no to the improvements.....

you guys still dont get it. As mentioned by me in another thread, as long as the money [ Paid accounts ] keep rolling in, there is no need for an update. Like why fix something wjhich isnt broken.
Also like the previous tweaks, stephen just cant please everyone. There would be equel nos. of compliments as well as whines so why do it?

What if we offered to buy an update? Wonder how much Stephen would charge. If cash is a motivation, I`d be willing to pony up some.
On the Viral update, what is the current upkeep? Virals once dominated with the unbeatable Borrely. They are no longer invincible with the mods to that ship and seem reasonably balanced. Never played Viral, so need more perspective.
I would prefer fed voting back. Adds intrigue to the game.

The idea is to hopefully show Stephen that there will not be much resistance to the changes, if he makes them. So feel free to vote AGAINST the petition by PMing me, as well. If there are too many opposing, we cannot go through with the petition.

Negativity? Well stuff like this has been tried before and failed. People are probally tired of getting their hopes up just to be let down. Over and over and over, at least for the 3 years I`ve been playing the topic of udates and petitions has been going on. The game is exactly how it was when I started so I really don`t care if it`s updated, but when I started playing people were already saying that the update was promised 2 years before. So that`d make it 5 years now of udate talk. I`ll say it again......5 YEARS....FIVE......Lets give it a rest already..The game will get updated either when people stop playing UC and he needs cash...or he sells the game....Just my opinion. Happy Mothers day!!!

Why all the negativity? So the chances may be slim, but since it takes less time to post a lengthy `not gonna happen` here than it does to add your name to the petition I hope you did both just in case it DOES make a difference :P

The notorious ineffectiveness of petitions notwithstanding, do you really think that just because "everyone" wants something that that something will come to be? If you`ve played this game for any length of time, it becomes obvious that nothing changes unless Stephen wishes it to be so. And, given Stephens history, that`s not likely to be so. Therefore you are just as likely to affect change on your own as you are with the entire community behind you, which, in conclusion, is no chance at all.
people in np doesn`t have upkeep to worry about anyway
