I doubt it has really changed but i seem to notice it much more from the community now, if someone new asks a question about something the general answer seems to be along the lines of go to uc n00b/newb

considering noone on gc really chats so new players will generally see uc talking about lords and tributes its not much of a surprise that new players think these are features especially as gc chat doesnt show which game someone plays for as a standard.

Considering that alot of players what a bigger player base i think we need to change this. Obviously not everyone does this but alot of players including staff at times do. This wont fix all the problems with the game or all the reasons players leave but maybe some of the new ones might actually stay instead of just doing as people say and going to uc

Never said it wasn`t music, loof. Just takes less work. It`s still music. Of course, I wouldn`t expect a perma high junkie to understand the difference between supporting a metaphor and actually claiming that something isn`t music. That just might be a BIT beyond your fuzzy brain sometimes. ;)

no wanted to pick something mainstream, so that i didnt just get the "well thats one out of a thousand - proves nothing" reply :)

Nice rant - bit deflating when I found out which song you used to illustrate your point. Couldn`t you have picked something original?

Looks like UC is the remix version of an overlooked classic!

chess, dev, and ondante go put something hard up your *beep*

comparing uc to gc as being similar of rap to music, are you dudes completely ignorant retards? that song for instance is a completely main stream hip hop song, as a musician myself there`s no doubt(imo) it got more musical quality than most messed up(but sure original way) fussion jazz, or all the emo retard rock bands, or people playing bach for the 200th time coz they cant think of any other way to use their xed violin, etc... Saying rapbeats can be made by "any capable technician or hobbyist can put together in a matter of minutes" is utter bs, and like saying i can play jazz clarinet just coz i can get the notes out of it resembling "when the saints".

(I am in no way a big hip hop fan, just hate retards claiming a hole genre isnt music, when there clearly is alot of nice things in it)

rap is good

YA TRICK YA!!

Hmmm, UC as the rap music of gamestotal. Sounds like a good dissertation topic. I lasted on UC for about a week. I pumped a minister up to level 1 billion or something and just thought about how little work it took. That being said, UC has had a couple of good ideas that I might like to see brought here, like the I-Tech thingy. OK, maybe just one good idea.

Maybe we can talk about recruiting rewards again- based on retention of new empires and such.

UC from what i have found is easier to play because anyone can help you out of debt with random tributes and an economy is also easier to make in UC.

*prods AGM* hmmm i wonder who your talking about ^^

Why should he calm down... that is only a slight rant. It is entirely true. That IS the difference between GC and UC. GC actually requires you think about what you are doing... UC is quick and easy gratification. It comes down to why you play games. If you play games to make you feel better, UC is definitely the better game. If you want to challenge yourself a bit more, GC is a fairly good game for that, as far as text based games go. Sure, it has it`s problems, but it is still pretty good or most of us would be long gone by now.

UC is easier, it`s (as far as I`ve seen) a generally accepted fact that UC is easier, and this is admitted and accepted by UC players, guides, etc. That`s the main reason more people like it and more people will stay there to play. People today (at least in the US, I can`t speak for elsewhere) are getting too used to getting something for nothing, to not having to work to earn what they get, to putting in a minimal amount of time and effort and getting as much out as they expect. This also explains why music in the US is shifting toward having no original ideas - originally, music had layers, harmony, melody, counterpoint, and so on, and then people started to change and remove parts to create new, sometimes more interesting forms of the music, but now people have been taking it too far, and we end up with things like rap, which, instead of having any music in it, consists of a preprogrammed drum beat (which any capable technician or hobbyist can put together in a matter of minutes) along with some (generally immature and selfish) string of words, no melody, nothing to put it in the same category as "music" of old but it is still published and labeled as "music", and the worst part: the general public accepts it as music, they eat it up and beg for more. People just don`t want to do anything that requires effort. If it`s hard, it`s too hard. If it`s easy, it`s perfect.

I`ve actually seen a lot more help lately, might just be me, but the community seems to take uc players a fair bit now. The problem is very few people stay in gc once they get here =/
D Deiloche
I am always willing to help. What bothers me is when new players say that they can do something in UC, why not here... that gets under my skin. :P
S StormofBladeZ
lol. :/
I help all new players if they send a pm w/ a question/suggestion/help or something.
A ArchAng3l
