You should make 1 Scorpion starbase for every 3 Chimaeras, they benefit each other - Scorpion helps cover Chimaera`s weakness in acid attacks and so on. As for offensive its all up to you. Just make sure to get some ships that benefit each other just like those starbases did

Best defense is border planets.

Offensive stacks will change depending on the race you are attacking and how the player you target plays the game. Best to learn by lots of battles!

i wished there were something i could tell you i could list some good ships for you but i would think you`d benifit more from this

it`s a battle simulator for GC you can play around on it and figure some things out for yourself...though if you still want some help you can pm me on RT if you wish i`ll help you to the best of my abilities
