you can also restart if you really want to... its just on the option`s page, and then click for the restart empire box
you can sell some stuff too. Ore can make a lot of money! (but so can other stuff)
try to build commercial as well that helps sometimes.
Well the usual solution is to stop spending money - disband all your ships if you have any and don`t build any new ones. If u have any minerals or ore sell those. That`s not much debt at all to be in so u should be able to get out of it quickly.
