What`s the point to have hull at the back(talking about balanced stack of course)?

having hull up front is for defence DM

just do the exactly opposite and you will be ok, big hull up front and high range at the back

well, just like someone mentioned down there: to kill Terran, use more Strafez.

now, Destroyer can do thier part on nail those strafez when defensive, same go to Cruiser. not only that, if attacker use Destroyer attack ur fleet, i bet ur Desroyer will nail them back too with correct stack (exclude P class attacking ur non-P class)

`ur opponent is matter too.` form my passed experience, i dont remember anyone used strafez n nail my Terran hard before ;p

And yea, there is no "best fleet". You pretty much have to do hundreds of attacks to get a feel of what works best for you. Who your opponent is matters too.

One thing for the newbs.....PR = power rating. Every ship has a certain power rating value to it. For example, each light fighter drone you build has a power rating of "5". So if you build 3500 of them (one turns worth), you will get a power rating of 17,500 (3500*5 = 17500) for that particular ship. If this is the highest power rating in your fleet, this goes on the top stack. If this is the only ship you have, you will have only one stack (you can have up to 10 stacks).

Now if you decide to build one turns worth of T. Ryu-jin (2250), you will have a power rating of 18000 for that ship since each one is worth 8 (2250*8 = 18000). Your fleet will then look like this.

2250 ryu (18000 pr)
3500 light fighter drone (17500)

JadeFalcon: yes, for sure, personally i use more destroyers in attacking fleets and more crusiers in defensive fleets. attacking i look at ship power to attack power, defending i look at ship hull to ship power

though there is no one overall good stack i personally go by the seat of my pants though for some races my stacks stay perty much the same as they usually work

For the Vets out there ; does Stacking depend on what you intend on doing ? Attacking takes one type of stack where defending takes another type of stack .

so my answer will be lol...

highest PR ship is the first stack , followed by the second highest PR stack.. so on and so forth.

nirv on agressive good vs collective starbase spam =)

nirv and herc spam is generally good vs collective unless you have the misfortune of running into brigatines. =P

Galleon these days are better than borelly due to its range of 9 and it`s kinetic/missile weapons. The only real ships it does bad against are the hercules and various guard ships. Generally good vs most viral stacks unless they stack hercs on top.

Brigatines are a powerhouse at higher PR levels vs capitol ship spammers if you spam them yourself. It can kill everything on careful except fodders and strafez (or ruby if you fight vs guard). Tyr (or borr, if you are viral) is prolly the best capitol to fight it. Probably my biggest PR jumps are because of brigatine spams.

man you need to start stacking and stop spamming

destroyers are some of the best ships going
thor - longest range for offensive plus great missle damage
hun li - nuf said
garuda - great strafez killer
pike - one tough ship
borelly - though it`s been nerfed a bit is still a power house

and when dealing with guard their best 2 ships are a corvet and a fighter
the ruby and the torm

and if you want the value of the frigate speak to anabolik he loves the light frigrate frigate

its not what stacks u need its what type of ships take what type of race like terran add some ships but has to be above a destroyer or a destroyer everything below is useless

add those ships togather with chemical queens and runners in a stack against terrans
pure missle stack agaisnt gaurd
viral- varies
miner are energy and kenetic include sometimes missles and queens are good too
collective its hard but add ships like the best ones anything that can fight chemical
maurder- energy missles and chemical

range isn`t always the best lead, personally i like to keep captial ships (large power) back arround stack 4-6, destroyers are usually a good lead for offence, cruisers for defence, when attacking terran strafez is a good lead as alot will lead captial ships, attacking miners lead missle/f class, when attacking guard missle is a must, lots and lots of missle, but mainly mix up what kinds of attacks for each stack

queens
garuda
sword
tyr
large runner
thor/zeus
