When I use turns for research I see the money/food and goods accumulated during those turns, but what are the tributes and bonuses for? What do they effect?

Just to add, the bonus income when you`re out of protection is 10% of your real income (only if it is positive).
Tribute is 15% of your income being sent to your slave master
Bonus is a bonus income given for making money outside of defence protection / newbie protection
