How Would Stacking Change...

Ok, firstly, I do not think that we should implement this, I`m just curious, im bored, I wanna see what people think, so don`t flame me xD

But anyways, how would stacking change if you could put stacks in any order you wanted
would that make ships like m Hal useful, if you put a 10 mil stack of hal with decoys ships ABOVE it, then it could get the flank on other ships right?

I will admit that I don`t know too much about the battle engine and whatnot, I just know what ships beat other ships xD anyones who`s battled with me can tell I dunno what I`m doing

But it seems to me that its possible for alot of new stacking strategies if you could order your stacks in any order

I just wanna see what you all think (this is NOT an udate suggestion) xD

Infinate waves is not very realistic unless *maybe* you create a new uber agressive battle mode.

If you look at military battles throughout history seldom has the attacker fought down to the last man (usually the defender would be the one doing that)

Maybe a `dang the torpedoes mode`

At battles like Midway which are not siege battles both the victor and the defeated walked away with some ships..

wasnt there a war in the past in some desert someplace ( or atleast i watched a movie on it ) were a small group of people held off and defeated an army because there recources ( water ) ran out , they all surrended and these like 6 people won , this can happen on GC thanks to stacking vs spamming , ifninite waves makes spamming pawn

infinite waves is nice but would ruin alot of aspects in gc aswell , dont get me wrong i like it , alot , but theres too many negative affects for the idea

dont be ridiculous bip, in real life if you were fighting and all the enemy had left was scouts, you would obviously rape them, then assimilate them...so we need those waves too, thatd be a good update

I say that there are an infinite number of waves. Let the ships duke it out until one person has no fleet left!

Yes, I know that an infinite number of waves wouldn`t work, or you`d get an infinite loop if someone with just fodders attacked someone with just fodders (I`ve seen n00bs do it). But more waves would be awesome anyway, because we`ve all had those battles where we`ve lost because all that was left was scouts. I mean, come on, if it were a real battle, would you go "shoot, there`s some scouts left but we`re only allowed 2 waves. Oh well, we lose, let`s go home"...

if your going to completely change the way battles work then yes you can completely change the way stacking works , and theres a million sexed up idea`s

but for the current layout the best idea ive liked is stacks going into battle depending on the percentage difference in power rating to the one above , for example stack two would need to be within a percentage range to stack 1 if its to go into battle with it , hence making stacking fair , another great idea as stated someplace below is a third wave making dummy stacks alot more useless

Loof how so? if I had 6 pretty balanced stacks you would get to attack only three of them. A stack loaded with no retail ships would eat a spam alive. Sure if you have a retail you could pull it off but lets say I have five stacks with no retail set up.

At least three of those are going to get free shots at your spam..

Moops...

If I were to change two things about the battles

1) Would be allowing players to stack their own ships in any order regardless of PD
2) Would be to add a thrid wave of battle so the posers who spam one stack with 9 stasks of 1 small straf, 1 hal, 1 light figerter, ..... Could not functon that way.

i agree bad idea with being able to pick stacks... the reason why it is ranged in power is so stacks match up more evenly...

if i could change anything... it would be simply picking rules to stacking... like battle opitions... a person who stacks can only fight another stacker... person who spams can only spam another spammer... but this will never come true... code & work into this idea would be to much... no one wants the challenge...

think about this for a second Moops bad idea. Flysch would be used for flanking makign them even mroe annoying you could have hercs being 80% of a Terrans pr and have it survive hiding behind P thors and Nirvs and fodder and Queens. Maru Pike are a pain when spammed up top woudl youw ant 60% pike in the third stack. also you set to coutner a vet by using ships whicha re godo agaist his ships he quickly changes around his fleet. Also lag woudl eb murder with processign all the stacking arrangements. I would try to find a way around this change if it ever happened but i think it`s a bad idea.

m.hals? only good for fodder killing, and yeah promotes spamming, you can only flank in second round since the in the first round m.hals would hit decoy's, and with that crabpy hull they have i doubt m.hals would do any good xD
