Also you can cluster 5 or 4 planets depending on your race
If you`re Terran you can cluster 5 planets to make a C1, 5 C1s to make a C2 and 5 C2s to get a C3. That way you can have more planets than the 15 colonies limit for terrans.

you can explore for planets or you can fight for planets
the more planets you are the harder it gets to explore , eventually fighting will become more efficient
