The way to become a great stock investor is to know an industry inside and out. Can be anything. Know the industries companies, who`s competing with each other. Who`s coming out with new products and when and just know everything the lay-men wouldn`t. If you are already interested and well informed on water technologies, then just become an expert in that industry and know more about it than 99% of the population. That way you are your own inside trader.
utilities are a safe bet especialy being a long term bet, if suddenly a power plant went up the govenment would step to help secure power for your area, utilies would be a nice 15-30 year investment. their are some new gas companies in canada that yeild like 45% for the time being, something like that you would have to moniter closley and make it a short turn around time. altho mutual funds are the best and safest way to invest, a good stock broker with a nice track record can accomplish this for you
The best advice I`ve ever seen, to help people`s investments come to fruition. Was rather simple, Invest in things you know everyone uses.
