Part II
If the collective known as Zenith had emotions, it would have felt.hopelessness.
The Guardians were too numerous, pounding the collective fleet incessantly with waves of energy and matter. Zenith's defenders were too few, to combat the oncoming horde. Slowly but surely, its defenses were decimated, chipped away by the never-ending waves of enemies.
It would not succeed.
Coldly, emotionlessly, Zenith calculated the possibilities. It would come back, sometime, and finish what it had started. But for now.
Dispersing its fleet, Zenith kept only the best ships and the most potent weapons; and began to work its way through the enemy ranks, destroying the weakest, and avoiding the strongest.
Almost instantly, its fleet was destroyed by one of the Guardians waiting above it.
Well, now. That was that. It wasn't possible to succeed in any form now.
Zenith disbanded its fleet, and waited for annihilation.
It would return. And its enemies would pay.
