Restart and keep infra resrch?

UC allows a player to restart and keep his infra research. I dont like to mingle UC and GC, but this might be useful for people on GC.

It would allow us to try out a different race, and not lose months worth of time spent on researching infra. This could encourage people to try out new races and add a bit of variety to the race chart.

To keep people from abusing this , they would lose research levels granted to them by missions. Only the infra they researched would be carried over on a restart.

This could be a bad idea, but its worth a shot i think. Im expecting to be told to go back to UC, but ill bear the nasty remarks that i will see on this thread sooner or later.

Opinions? Criticisms? Suggestions? Death Threats?

Maybe if you put a ` kinda restart ` button right below the normal restart button, for people who dont wanna really restart :P

I think you should be able to keep infrastructure and switch like uc. Especially on turnbased servers.

But please, all these suggestions depend on stephen actually editing the code. Think about it...

Its a nice idea, i see your points, but half the fun of restarting.... is being restarted.... dont take that away from me *sniffle*

nah ruins the hours on end researching to 256 infa.

You could make a limit of how much infra you can carry over ( maybe a 100 or so)

And good point Rag, youd need to be able to re-assign the infra to whatever category you are going to be using for income. I should have mentioned that.

amenia it would be nice but NO because if every single player maxes out and they are able to reach max credits and u r bored what do u do and plus then the max pr cap and the max credit cap will go up so no

In that case you`d have to be able to change how the infrastructure is carried out too. 100 levels of commercial research ain`t gonna do you a fat lot of good if you`re guard or a miner. ^_^
