Restart and keep infra resrch?

UC allows a player to restart and keep his infra research. I dont like to mingle UC and GC, but this might be useful for people on GC.

It would allow us to try out a different race, and not lose months worth of time spent on researching infra. This could encourage people to try out new races and add a bit of variety to the race chart.

To keep people from abusing this , they would lose research levels granted to them by missions. Only the infra they researched would be carried over on a restart.

This could be a bad idea, but its worth a shot i think. Im expecting to be told to go back to UC, but ill bear the nasty remarks that i will see on this thread sooner or later.

Opinions? Criticisms? Suggestions? Death Threats?

getting to keep infra after UW is a great idea would re balance arti stores and make UWs more appealing.

UC is GC times about 15 in everything. Take away the element of one on one battle, in fact... just take away battle all together since the penalties for attacking and retals are rediculous... And then you have UC...

yesh go back to UC. Plus GC isnt large scale as UC.

As a CHRONIC restarter i would of loved this, and would of maxed infra over 2 years ago, NOT a good thing for a restarter to have.

Whilst it sounds good on paper, what is the point in everyone having max/near max infra?

No fun at all.

Keep it at UC.


What I would like to see is missions for all races and the infra level requirments (for example A. Miner one that needs 5 levels in industry) to be just be 5 levels of any one infra.

Thats all i would like really

that special project was never brought to GC only UC i would love to be able to fix some of my research

i don`t like this idea.

why?

because this game already lacks means of re-balancing. UWs are rare and don`t touch power bases and artifact stocks...

if anything, something should be done to make it easier for new players to compete with the elder gods from the deep

na special project would suk, i used to use it all the time, and it takes the risk outta reseaching agriculture, goods, and so one, a Terran could do all his resach in agri then if the food market crashed he could just switch to com and so on..

thats a really sucky idea im afraid to say o.0
however i have a better idea :P

bring back the special project, where you can re-arrange research

it was a special project, that allowed the player to change his research only once, but it was great for all those newbieies who screwed up by reseaching minerals when there a terran :p

I think that UC sucks enough without bringing its suckiest features into GC.

Only a newbie would want something like that.

that is an AWESOME idea w00tapus. The whole idea of keeping them when you restart, although it would be cool, doesn`t seem like it would work out that well. But getting to keep your infra after a successful UW would be a good idea.

for an UW not a bad an idea as just a plain restart , but thats only because it makes UW``s ALOT more apealing , still a fairly bad idea, but then maybe i just prefer them dying ^^

Or just change the restart button to a link to UC ^_^
