When i logged on today i see the big pink banner , and while i have personally thought for a long time that tranfers are a bad idea I`m wondering why the notice now ?

Don`t remove it unless the peak dig times are changed!
For some, it`s the only effective way to get a time capsule. Peak dig time for US west coast is 3:30am - ridiculous - that`s totally out of reach and digging in the day for orbs is a waste of time.

sigh guess i gotta reiderate what happened long ago about this. ]
alot of people knew about the stc vote long ago and how to abuse it. due to the way it could be abused some people held a demonstration on the turn based servers to blow them using literally thousands of stc`s from voting. after that the complete staff and STEPHEN!!!! all agreed that voting for multiple stc`s was to be monitered and a punishable offence as it can unfairly unbalance the game. maraudian is right here and stephen was actually supposed to fully remove the voting link at one time but as per stephen it never got removed.

stcs and voting can be abused. was abused. at one time, when LCA was angry with the adminhood, i pumped 16 thousand stcs into Evergo overnight, just to make a point. then Rafaction persuaded toprpgg to add a captcha. Stephen did not believe.
what`s more, it can be abused still, though differently.
i`d rather have this feature removed completely...
and, Mara, if you feel this post should not be here, do delete it, i don`t mind

well, for me account transfere doesnt seem to be such a big issue.
The numbers are low anyway, and on the other side, if 2 persons wants to change server/race to play with something new = keep the booringness away without spending the next year building up an empire, thats way better than if these people leave the game at all......

So what happens if I have non-sf`er friends who vote for me?
I have to tell everyone to stop? no ill just force restart you then blacklist you if persists, they can carry on its not there fault your cheating , even if they help you do it.
meh, I can also think how this can be totally abused..
let`s say I fire up a few dozen proxies and vote for Maruad (or anyone who irritates me). He gonna restart himself?? Or will those who dare irritate me :P get restarted due to my mad proxy skillz?? people have done this before today , but this is really easy to avoid , the player just needs to let staff know some not-smarts doing it and to remove them from his empire and find the culprit , who i garentee blacklist when found
This issue has been worked on SO many times.
Last time I recall some folks got Stephen to overrule Belial about it. no idea were you pulled this from but its completely wrong
The solution at that time made some sense.. the USE of stcs was capped.. 5 per day, and not like 5 per day EVERY day. thats the crabpest solution i ever heard. not to mention uneeded and useless
So you really going to stick to the the 1 stc per day? its been 1 a day for over a year and has stuck to that , nothing to do with me , rules are rules and we all follow them and thats pretty much all there is to it.

this isnt my ruling , this is a rule , nothing to do with me i will simply enforce it regardless to what you him her or ste say , if rules arnt enforced then theres no reason for me to be here and you can all cheat in every possible manner to your hearts consent , what will ste say to this , i think he will agree rules are to be followed for the good of the game. even if he does lose 5 votes or so from a cheating empire

just a case popped up were someone did an account transfer without even checking if it was allowed or not so i thought ide just post up a reminder to the rest of you seems the topic hasnt been brought up for a fair few months now , i just thought it would be a tad usefull to post up a reminder for 12-24 hour

I really cant see that being a problem, i just recall people using proxys to get 10 stcs every few minutes
besides, if you do it legally (no proxy) you will only be rewarded for voting once per day

And voting once per day - sure I agree, but what`s a day? Is it a violation if I vote at 2pm local time and then 1pm local time the next day?
