I think he means the game, where a whole bunch of big guys line up in two opposite lines on a green field with white lines every ten yards and huge yellow sling shot looking posts on both ends, and the guys beat the crab out of each other trying to get a funny looking brown ball from one side to the other..

i think your either talking about american football which is (a type of rugby)
or soccer which is just the american`s trying to come up with a new word for a game thats been around for decade`s under the name FOOTBALL
