For those players who`ve requested a change of fed leadership for reasons like, going in vacation need a leader in the fed, or current leader has been inactive for 30 + days.

Finally Admins have this ability and thanks to all those who requested this for the benefit of the game, very very much appreciated.

Conditions

  1. Current leader must indicate who he or she would like to have take over the fed, provide fed id# and name in a PM from the leader.
  2. You also as a fed may request this if your leader has been inactive for 30+ days. The reason for this is due to if a leader is inactive and gets deleted in the server clean outs, then the fed will disappear as well.
If the fed leader is inactive, this will be done via each player in the fed informing admin of their vote, now to be fair to the fed would suggest for the time being it be 1 vote per planet as per older system, forsee one problem here, admins may not be online when the vote is taken from your fed. (due to this vote could alter, case by case basis until then)

Admin/Mods who can do this change
    Viper gc.rt
    Pandy gc.rt
    Eternus gc.rt
    quaint gc.fast
    lothor gc.rt
    Belial gc.rt

" Pandy - im not making suggestions on how this should be fixed. Im stating the solution, a return to the old system of voting "

you are embarrising yourself in a public post , do your research before making such posts

the " old " system had a bug , this bug was bad and exploitable , it was taken down , this " new update " is to help everyone in the meanwhile

i doubt the admins want to sit there all day playing about with all your feds , they have more important things to do , im sure eventually it will be fixed and returned in the update or w/e -.-

quit whining and actually do some homework on the subject instead of just complaining and making yourself look silly to everyone :/

Ragnarok - I hope so my friend! But i doubt it.

Pandy - im not making suggestions on how this should be fixed. Im stating the solution, a return to the old system of voting. We dont need a system of lieutenants or something similar that required god knows how many complications. We just want a simple planet voting election ability!

dukeemmoc: you are only whining... as you could have readed some time back the election was taken outbecause somethign was wrong whit it... wheter this is tru or not doesnt change that it makes all your argument enetirly pointsless its temporaly and contains the words update... that i did ever see those words in the same sentence as gc again

Woot :)

Although it took quite a while and quite a lot of arguing to get this accomplished, thanks!!!! It is at least showing the players, albeit very slowly, that our suggestions are listened to occassionally. Hopefully the update to fix the elections isn`t far behind!

DukeEmmoc this is temporary of course, though to be honest i believe that stephen intends for the fed to be managed with one leader and 2 lieutenants as on UC ... which if the lieutenants could kick the fed leader would still make the fed able to be taken over, or anaboliked for the older generation players.
P PandyOP
was thinking along those lines lightspeed, for inactive ones, only problem is to do it you guys would yes discuss on disc board, then PM admin all at same time .. which is hard when you are all most likely on at diff times during the day, keep up with suggestions sincerely interested.

omg...yay for the admin!:D

Hear hear duke ^^ I agree totally.

I quote further:

`Hostile take over

How to do it?
If enough spies are able to infiltrate a federation then they can elect themself as the leader of the federation. This `spy` can then proceed to kick any `unwanted` members out, this refers to members which are still loyal towards the old leader. Some or most members (depending on their loyalty) may choose to stay with your rule or leave the federation. This hostile take over would totally throw a federation upside down.

What is the purpose?
Lets say your federation does not like another federation. Instead of sending it to a full scale federation war, a hostile take over is a very easy way of expanding a federation`s influence and power. This is because ultimately your federation can gain full support of another federation once you have successfully taken it over. `
D DukeEmmoc
I quote from the mannual to show that hostile take overs, spying and normal elections of the leader by the membership was a part of the game. I also call on the majority out there to continue their efforts in requesting that the original voting system is reinstalled. Again restate that the obvious change in attitude of stephen was perhaps due to members taking over federations rather than paying for an account to create their own - the result is that voting was banned to force members to get paid accounts. The excuse that people were taking over as a reason is not valid as that is part of this game!!!!!!!!! Furthermore the apparent bug could have been cleaned up and voting reinstalled ages ago but it has not. I hope the many who wish it to come back do not take this minor concession as a reason for backing down on our protests.

I quote form the mannual now:

`Spies and Double Agents
Federation War
During war with another federation, be very careful about recruiting new members because they may be spies. Spies listen to your strategy and plans. This can prove to be a very valuble information during war.
How can you send your own spy?
One can easily send a spy to another federation, try to take over the federation (hostile take over) or get intelligence. This spy can then report back to the leader or other members of the federation to share the newly found information. `
D DukeEmmoc
i think the federations should be managing their own leaderships like nearer to reality rather than some administrator managing elections and deciding that leaders cannot be removed atall, i dont get why simply the old system of voting cannot be put back in.

How are we meant to infiltrate and take over federations???? ;)
D DukeEmmoc
what happens if the members wish to take over the federation without the leaders consent?
When will voting return, i assume this is a tempoary measure until it is fixed?
L lightspeed
cool, nice feature, much appreciated indeed :)
i have an ideea: how about, when the leader is inactive, members start pm`ing an admin they all choose on the discussion board and then the admin sets a voting period (to be decided how long it should be, i think 3 - 4 days should be enough. this period should be announced by the admin by pm to all members of the fed so they`ll be informed of the change that is about to happen) during which all members should vote for the new leader in the manner desccribed by pandy (individual pm, 1 vote per planet or whatever). at the end of this period the admin changes the fed leader. this i think gives members an equal chance to vote, ie there won`t be any players to complain like "i didn`t get the chance to vote because the leader already changed" except those who were in vacation mode during all the time the voting took place (i don`t think there`s a better way to solve this little issue). i hope this helps :)
cheers :)
