There is now an IE module for firefox, should work with it i believe. Im also sure it should work with firefox with some adjustments ... not sure i dont use FF or IE anymore for gaming, though i guess i should for some lol

it doesnt work with any newer versions of FF as far as i can tell
try digging back through the forum. There is a really helpful post by eternus about doing it with firefox.

As far as i can remember there is no .exe file needed for the gc client. you just unzip the folder to C:\gc\gc
Go to options - Client and activate the client.
