Mineral bot - Discussion

i would say, i dont mind the bot post minerals. but just dont too often or constantly post each minutes or seconds.

as it might ruin those Miners. maybe a few batch per hr.

other than that, those ships issue u guys discuss, it had been discussed since long time ago. guess u guys already show the points.

Merlin, your so full of yourself m8, you dont read what im saying correctly, but oh well im tired of this fighting, but just to let you know, GA and I are right and your wrong.

Not going to fight over this not-smart thing, when in sense your defending a clause that is wrong.

Note: Kazul bot is fine, but it doesnt help aminers in ships, they cant fight against virals, they dont have 11 range thors, they only have chlorites at range 9, best ships are flysche, lictors dont hold crud to hercs, nor even borrs ... go figure ... hmm

Stop complaining your fine as miner yea at below in Newbie area, fine say that, but try fighting alot and you will see ships need adjusting ... i wont say hard nor easy, but the market bot is just a handicap and worsens the reason of why GC is a fighters game, not a hiding and mining game and keeping your precious 50 or so planets.

Merlin, I dont care if your old or new, you dont know the full effect like other people, you might be right, but I seriously SERIOUSLY dont like how your defending this issue when you have stated reasons that are wrong and flat out useless to solving GC RT problems.

At least think outside the freaking box like some others

To program you would need to be on site.
there are a number of reasons why programming spacefed from a remote location will never happen
1. it incorages bots, as with the code you can create undetectable ones - this is almost immpossible to do without being given the code
2. size - spacefed is too big to be sent accross the internet by any reasonable means unless stephen provided you with full server access (major security risk)
3. testing - without full server access and beta facilities it would be impossible to test whether things you have done work. also you need the full code to test, as otherwise other sections of code could interfere

For these reasons, as well as others anyone helping with the programming NEEDS to be on site

Stephen now takes time to discuss ideas with the staff. Mainly because he knows that we will argue about them and generally the ideas he sees from us are what is best for the game, and very minor, as minor changes have drastic effects

atleast 50% of ideas put falward by players are normally either designed to benifit there race, impossible to impliment or woulds cause total imbalance. Generally stephen can only filter out the ones that are impossible to impliment

Stephen doesnt play (much) so he cannot discuss with you about the effects on balance a change will have, so it is much better for him to leave that to the staff


All staff aplications are handled during guide application time
We dont care if you applied months before, as IF that was allowed that then the admins would perminantly be dealing with applications, which is a pointless waste of time... they are dealt with at guide apps time so that the disturbance to other admin activities is minamised.

Merlin a years is 12 month .. u told me there was no change for the last 18 months ...
I asked to be guide, i wasn`t accepted and as i expected no update for GC for the next 2-3 month (at least and i wasn`t wrong) i`ve started VMing ... coming back from time to time.

Oh and really sorry not everyong leave near stephen. perhaps they should build a city for GC players just next to stephen house ...

SnakeS - Virals have been around for OVER a year, and that ship change on Terrans was for there for just as long.

As to asking to be a guide, you only apply when the applications are being sought after for Guides. If you missed the intake then you cant blame others, only yourself, and there has been at least three intakes this past year for Guides.

As to what you posted about Stephen not wanting people to help, that isnt true, if you lived near him, in the same country as him, then he would accept that help. He himself has said that in the past in reguards to people help with the programming.

There are FIFTEEN of those postings, and that was 10 hours ago at the time of the posting of this post. So yes it is coincidence, just as is your post pointing that out that the batches are there because it just proves that the bot is helping.

- terran ship have seen their pr dropped, they got scorpion and tyr, and hercules chemical weakness has been reduced from -60% to -30%
- viral appeared
to me it seems quite important in the fighting environnement.

to help the game
i`ve asked to be a guide 3 month ago - before going in VM ; u can ask pandy
i`ve suggested improvement directly to stephen through email and IRC ... suggestions that never got any answer.

i could help as I`m also programmer but
1 - i don`t use CFM ( even though that not really a pb as it is easy to learn a language )
2 - Stephen doesn`t want anyone to help him on the programmation side

conclusion : I`m ok to help ... if the gameadmin was willing us to help. But HE wants to program alone, and HE doesn`t take time to discuss with us about our suggestions.
For the newbie support side when i wasn`t in VM i was answering question on the chat from time to time

So now ok i decided to go in VM (for about 2-3Month from now) coz after 2 years of very versatile changements, GC is so repetitive that it becomes boring. If you think the contrary it`s your right. But it won`t change my mind : GC has been forgiven for far too long and the mineral problem is one effect of this

Sorry Omegian, but I just have to laugh at this part of your post, take a look at what you have written, then look at the comments about said mineral bot in play right now..

You are whinging about KZ being a mineral bot, yet here you are suggesting an aminer mineral bot. There is NO difference what so ever but the mining rates.

As to making people leave should the game get a full reset. I hear a lot of hot air, but yet to see anything like that happen in ANY game that gets a reset every 2 month or so elsewhere. And dont say that`s different, it isnt, it`s the same thing. If people want to play they will, those that dont want change do NOT want to help the game.

As to Loof quitting playing Aminer because KZ dumped mineral dump, no that isnt the reason he quit playing Aminer, he quit for a change of scenary, not because KZ had done a mineral dump. Mostly because KZ did the mineral dump AFTER Loof had changed races, and 2 weeks before it started it`s routine UW attempt.


SnakeS: I doubt you would like to do something for the game, you have been in VM for a while now, you havent been helping the game. Also, NO ships have been improved of ANY race in over 18 months.

But I guess you dont want to play, then why do you bother logging into your account if you find it boring, oh, that`s right, your sitting with a nice cozy empire like some of the others on here, and dont want to help the game. Dont say you are, because I failt to see how you are helping the game.

And yes it has been more than a year, I`ve been around for at least that long. Now think of how Stephen is when it comes to pushing himself before you start going on about nothing being done.,

- yes i`m aminer and i won`t change becoz i`ve spent many time on this empire
- yes i would like to do something for the game but only admin/gameadmin can
- yes i`m VMing (and not hiding) becoz
*it`s been more than a year that NOTHING GOOD HAS BEEN DONE
*since i play AMiner it has been harder and harder to fight with them while all other races have seen their ships improved
*after so many days without any improvement it`s been a bit boring to play.

Who said aminers are ment to have tonnes of cash, the cash gets used for exploration, do remember that exploration does cost a lot. Unfortuantly aminer scouts are really just terran scout clones with double the stats.

However yes BOTs do screw up the game play, just ask those that bot the market constantly before the mineral bot was brought in.

You can explore up to 61 planets and waste like 1 bil and be fine, thats easy, money comes quickly to asphas no matter what.

Merlin, im not here to fight with your views vs mine, if you have 1 hr to play per lets say 12 hr no 6 hr period, and u mined and u needed those minerals to use to fight with just to keep clusters. I would use them, keep the rest in case i can only check in once every 12 hrs ...

Also even when i had over 100 planets, fighting was easy, the problem is its all Spams, Resetting just makes people leave Merlin or not wish to play.

Help? What do u mean help, u mean flood the market with all my rutile i was building? I wasted 75% of it building my ships, 25% saved up, if i hadnt used up some then it was sold not at 1k all the time, as other miners ive known that sell thier excess at the 1k price.

Ok seriously what is your problem when i cant play like all day like many RT players, and no i dont bot, never do. So good luck with that theory on me.

Selling at max price, When that happend last time, guess who quit with his 330 planets when kazul came in last time cuz he had no need to build minerals and money when he can play another race and buy the minerals in abundance from the Kazul bot. Loof ... he quit last time it came in cuz he sold his now at 999, so what, he didnt care but he was trying to help sell minerals as were others, dont blame me for not helping, i did, i know many virals that just spam angels and pyths and hercs that bought over 500 mil rutile and over 1 bil strafez of all that ive mined.

Merlin, what really needs to happen is not a reset on RT, that just makes people not want to play if server resets everyone, and i doubt many people want to restart, many rather wish to see more minerals by either :

You are trying to make it look like the mineral bot is causing people to not play aminer. No, the reason people dont play aminer is because they just want to fight, well hello, Aminers are NOT a fighting race, that much is known. Also, people were NOT sick of the mineral shortage, those that whinged about it mostly did NOT want to restart their nice cozy races and try and help, instead they just complain.

I have been around long enough to see who those are that want to help, and who those are that dont. Complaining that a mineral bot spoils the game is more like it spoils your own because you can NOT put your minerals for max price.

Omegian however again you just proved my point, you dont want to help, you are part of the problem by wanting to post minerals at max price, 1 less is NOT going to hurt you.

Also, someone mentioned about KZ doing a UW, I`ve already suggested KZ be given 500+ planets and set off a UW.

However, the only REAL way of fixing GCRT is by doing a FULL reset of the game. Yes, that means EVERYONE starts from scratch, because honestly there is no way anyone can learn how to stack or anything with the game as it is.

Merlin its not money im after, i rather be broke, its the ships that i want to fight with, they stink, and problem is i didnt have enough time to play as another race and buy up minerals, with Kazul i will see them on market always therefore i dont need to play aspha and hog my own minerals ... its not money

Merlin: True its not stopping Miners from selling. But whats the point of having tons of cash if you can`t use it in a worthwhile manner? Sure they can just build ships but they`ll get beatn easily. People went Miner because they were sick of the mineral shortage. Now that there will be minerals all the time theres no real reason to be miner. The bot is screwing up the game. Not the gameplay but they way it works. Its not like a real system anymore. I know its just a game but theres other ways to fix it. Sure it may take a bit longer than the bot patch but I think it will be better in the long run.

Snoopy: So am I still around, if RL wasnt being such an issue for me minerals would also be on the market from me. But wait, I actually STOPPED putting the minerals on the market for just that reason, not because of the bot, but for the other issues with the mineral market on GCRT.

MassDestruction: I dont know WHICH server you are on, if you play on RT what is YOUR username on there. And please dont tell me that it`s MassDestruction, because that account on RT is at 1500 PR.

But I can tell you right now as any newbie knows the chances of trying to learn how to stack in that game speed there is IMPOSSIBLE. Because the moment you try to do so and are playing Terran or Aminer you have the likes of Saga swoop down and enslave you.

Oh and Omegian, I think I`ll put you in the same book as SnakeS, another one that now seems to just want to sit back and be part of the problem, and not the solution.
