er i got a couple of questions here

1st

how does the shield mod work?

does it :

1) opp ship hull * (100+shield mod)% = armour to break
2) ur weapon * (100 - shield mod)% = damage dealt to hull
3) both cases happen

2nd

in this case,

how many thors to kill :
a) 1 herc
b) 100 queens
c) 10k ryu jins

3rd

answer question 1 first

in the case of multiple shots and multiple shields,

hull multiply or damage multiply

cos if hull multiply it is crazy and difficult to calculate

damage multiply easier to calculate and easy to undershot

anyhow ram?

hmm ur answer sounds... wrong

for both answer

very....

dodgy

No retal simply means the ships attacks without fear of retaliation, and gets attacked without your opponent fearing retaliation.
Retaliation = 50% of weapon firing back.

erm you mind answering the very last question?

thkx for the answer though
L Luminara
A: Too many use Queens instead.
B: Too many use Hercs instead.
C: Too many use Hercs or Queens.

another question

shall throw everything here

double post thriple post or what but will spam all my questions

no retal works for all ships with that right?

so... i can make kalzul not hit me at all

if i send 1 ship stacks all with no retal, then i wont be hit at all right?

so no loses?
F fleak2OP
thkx for the formula

but if you can,

please do change the word document

cos it is errorneous and misleading
M Maraudian
i think the formula itself would help you understand how it works
M Maraudian
forgive me for using C&P but i feel these would be the best for giving you a fairly wide spread amount of info on the questions you asked :/

Rules And restriction on attacking

---------------------------------------

GC Battle Formula (GC)
Damage = ( (Weapon1 -Shield1*) + (Weapon2 -Shield2*) + (Weapon3 -Shield3*) + (Weapon4 -Shield4*) ) x Fleet Attitude
Weapon1 - Shield1 means the damage caused by weapon1 minus the abortion rating of shield1. For example, if weapon1 is 100, and the shield rating is 50%, then:-
Weapon1 - ( Weapon1 x Shield1% ) = Net Damage
100 - (100 x 50/100) = 50
Fleet attitude determines how much damage the attacker and defender`s fleet will sustain. Careful attitude will result in a reduced weapons effectiveness that then results in a lower casualty rate. Fleet attitude can be seen below:-
Careful
-50% Attacker efficiency
-50% Defender efficiency

Normal
-5% Attacker efficiency
Normal Defender efficiency

Aggressive
+75% Attacker efficiency
+99% Defender efficiency
Notes:
Weapon1 = Energy Weapon
Weapon2 = Kinetic Weapon
Weapon3 = Missile Weapon
Weapon4 = Chemical Weapon
Shield1 = Energy Shield
Shield 2 = Kinetic Shield
Shield 3 = Missile Shield (ECM)
Shield 4 = Chemical Shield

by the way

this is a quote from the battle guide provided on hte manual

4. Ship weapons and defence modifiers

4.1 Ship weapons and retaliation

Ships can have various weapon types and have a single range at which they can attack their opponent. Due to the nature of some weapons or ships the enemy might not be able to shoot back at once. The defender is only able to hit back at an opponent while counterattacking. Those ships have the comment `no retaliation` in noted in the ship data. Other ships have the comment `no defence` added in their ship data. When a ship attacks these ships before they can return fire they are not able to do so.

4.2 Defence modifiers and weapon strength

Each ship has their own strengths and weaknesses built into their design. These make up the defence modifiers. The defence modifier applies to the weapon strength of attacking ships. A defence modifier of +50% against energy weapons would mean the attacker`s energy weapon strength would be multiplied with 1.5. If the defence modifier was -50% instead of +50% then weapon strength would be multiplied by 0.5 effectively halving it. The attack type cautious, normal of agressive also acts as a multiplier to the weapon strength.

looks WRONG to me

4th question

what do you think? wrong or wrong?
