this is that game rules speaks:
"counter Attack

No power rating restrictions

Special restrictions:-
You are allowed 1 counter attack for someone who has attacked your empire in the last 7 days. While doing a counter attack, you will not be restricted unless the empire has fallen into protection. "
and this is that i got:
"Target empire is still under protection.
Empires with less than 5,000 power rating is automatically under protection. "
WTF????? he attacked me, enslaves me, and now i can`t beat him back???? i`m REALY REALY disapointed :/

as i said, i`m just a user and i`m telling what seems to me wrong.You are the ones, who know enogh to decide am i right or am i wrong. you are teling abaout their slow death without colonies. ok. let`s see... if you have power rating even below 3K how much planets he can have? as i understand 2 or 3. one of them is home planet, wich can`t be taken. so whats left? 1-2 colonies? it`s better to enslave then i think. and if you are worieng about these races, make them not one home planet, that can`t be takken, but one home planet and one colony. or is it bad too?
just the main idea of counter-attack and a newbe protection does not fit to me. and that aspect of the game in my opinion makes this game too static. now you don`t care about revenge, you can attack anyone else and everyone can attack you. missing order here. and not logic.why? becouse of every attack last 5turns. there is now space map, no nabours no far-away oponents. but this is another thing not related with counter-attack.
i just think what if you have enough stregth to attack, be prepared to pay consicounces!

there are 2 protections , dp and np

dp is after taking dmg , it gives you a perminent 24 hour safty , and there is np , elow 5k pr you cant be atacked ( unless protections have been removed this is only for special mission )

and as hawks says you get 7 days to wait for him to come out and hit him at any pr you wish

well you see your making suggestions before you know half the game, there are 2 fighting races that cant explore planets , and can die when you take all there colony`s , these need a place to hide , they can hide below 5k pr , they can then use this to there advantage by popping out for a hunt then retreating into it , planet players can use dp to there advantage by sitting in it for 24 hours and popping out when they want , this keeps the game balanced and fair , if you could counter atack people in np / dp the game would be destroyed.

realy. that kind of "newbe" he is?? i`m new in this game and i am not one of creators, i`m only user, and as a user i can say, what i seen better. don`t remember where, but it was space strategy too, on the net. and it was newbe protection, but it last svereal days (in game time). then it expires you left on your own. and here that? newbe, who plays abaout a year??? funny it to weak word for this.
another thing why it is bad. old players have enough resorces to make a severa; attacks, enslave some empires and then plunder all of their colonies, dispand ships and queitly colect tribute. and new one`s what? we just pay them till we have enough money to buy ships. then we go into debt and everything stops. it is not good! i bild ships only to free myself, i can`t keep it `couse it cost too much, so i must disband, and i loose money! you are teling about revenge..it`s silly, he never go above 5K without building ships.
Counter-attack must be an attack without ANY restrictions, or remove it at all!
that do you thing abaout real life, real war?they wait too before counter? :)
it is really interesting game, but some aspects make me sick of it. maybe it is cool to old ones, but it`s too much for newbe like me.

you cant attack anyone in np or dp even if you have a counter but if he enslaved you and slid back to np it only makes it easyer to free yourself , then wait for him to show above 5 k and take your revenge , you have 7 days.
