1. Does the mining infra inside a planet only affect ore or does it affect mineral production also?
2. What is it that decreases available land?
3. What other newbie question am I missing?

the mines you build only affect the ore, the mineing research affects both.

2. your infrastructure (when you build more housing,commercial,industry, and mining)
3. How would i know what you dont know!?!
