I know none of us are expecting anything on GC to ever change but if we COULD change it here`s something I think would be awesome:

If a successful UW launch occured the launcher should be given a jumpstart on their new race. This jumpstart could be in the form of starting with all ships researched (not for virals though... they`d still have to go out and get their own ships) and/or 30ish levels of research into the area that they choose. I was thinking u could maybe even give the Guardians that hard/impossible to research K. class ship... a UW launch is a fantastic achievement and deserves a better reward than the useless "now u can play as any race" ... yey...

I don`t imagine this would be tough to implement and it would give long time empires the needed incentive to say goodbye to all their research/planets etc etc etc.

Thoughts?

NO and WAY

Setting off a UW doesnt mean you get something afterwards, you RESTART as the new race. Restarting means you start from scratch.

And honestly, giving someone K Class ships, they arent hard or impossible. It just takes time to complete. And Guardian as with the other paid races are ment to be hard.

Sorry to say, this isnt a suitable incentive in my books, and really anyone just doing a UW to become a new race in order to gain all the ship research really shouldnt be doing it for that reason.

As to your suggestion there Archaeopty, Why not just make GC into UC and give their research back when they restart!!

Wow... yeah I was trying to scale back the jumpstart but I guess it could be more major...

I wasn`t so much thinking of benefits that would necessarily put u back where u were before u launched the UW but somewhere close could be alright...

You know something interesting that we could do... rather than having to program all servers differently (not that that would be hard) maybe when u restart you would recover a set percentage of your research, like anywhere from 60 % - 80% or something but of course you could split it up however u liked between the different types of infra research.

Yeh this is a good idea, but I like what Arch said about even more of an incentive...
Dark Maru would be awesome, but then I think it should be made even harder to set of an UW... Then there wouldnt be so many Dark Marus.

hmmm .... the "all ships researched" and "30 lvls" is tiny on gc/rt ...
more fair would be ...
if you choose to restart as guard, hun xe research is given free.
on rt ... any race: you get all ship research, and 100 lvls infra (you`re bound to have had 100+ before UW)
gc/ultra: all ship research and 75 lvls infra
gc/fast: all ship research and 65 lvls infra
gc/normal: all ship research and 45 lvls infra
gc/slow: all ship research and 25 infra

when dark maru is introduced, its supposed to only be for people who have successfully set off a uw. thats what they`re talking about pansy.

Rare: after u set off the UW u can restart as a Guardian - duh. Power up the mind.

Loof/Alpha - Being that Dark Maru aren`t even playable I don`t have the slightest idea what in earth u guys are talking about.
