Yeah. I agree with you there. As I said, I just felt a bit slighted. My primary servers are normal and slow, which are both servers where I have dominated for lengths of time. My 300 planets on fast mostly only helped to crash the food market there, heh. I apologize for pushing at you, it was unnecessary. It would be nice to see empires like DkCivic go boom... what else is there for him, really? He has sat close to max credits for months, and even though I will go boom shortly his credits will easily return. *shrugs* To each their own, I suppose. I consider DkCivic an ally, but I would like to see an all-out war where say ten of the biggest empires on slow unite to fight Civic, where either they lose theirs clusters doing so or he does. Just an all out, epic battle.

Oh yea, sure, I build cheap ships first. I understand the math behind the game all to well.

Take a look at the difference in cost between using 2 turns at once to build a particular ship type and building that same ship type using two separate turns. I think you`ll be surprised at how the total cost works out. Even more surprising is that it is not linear - it gets worse as the number of turns used goes up. That is unless Stephen has fixed the bug. I doubt it, but it`s been a couple of years since I found it.

I wouldn`t exactly say there was no cost to attacking you - any idea how many BTCs it takes to go from nothing to 200-300m? More than a few :/

I`ve been watching you build and know exactly what you have with only about 30m unaccounted for. Rest assured I don`t think even Dk can stop your UW. He`s probably sitting on a ton of fodder and has no meaningful offensive fleet. Your fed mates will deal with him quick enough if his PR starts changing. Even so, the recent changes to A.Miners truly makes them a defensive race and those cheap viral ships can`t do much against a large number starbases because the of their ranges.

I for one have given up on stopping you :( and am focusing on buying minerals before you blow the server - 10% of a large number is still a reasonably large number. I`ve pretty much accomplished this in the last 36 hours so, well, you know...

Oh, I agree that my empire should never have existed. But that fact that an empire with a FRACTION of what I have could attack me with impunity with almost no cost bugs me. If I didn`t have civic supporting me I couldn`t go anywhere NEAR where I am now, despite the fact that I have more than double his income: an income I spent a solid six months making. It bugs me that you can sit permanently in VM and hit me on your whimsy.

Secondly... I didn`t put those starbases on top to stop you. That was just a convenient side affect, watching you attack me and get completely trashed. There is a certain order to building things. You build your cheapest stack first to conserve credits. Surely you understand that? I know you don`t really HAVE expensive stacks, but surely you build your pyth before your d.angels. :P

As for doing a UW I had to fight for? Check out fast and slow, where my UWs both succeeded. I fought for both of those empires. One had over 300 planets and the other had five c2s (my miner on slow.)

Do you honestly think any player BUT one with an unnaturally powerful income could actually go boom on ultra right now? Even I couldn`t do it without the support I have... and who knows, I might still fail. Given my fleet, I doubt it... it would take a lot of BTCs and betrayal from civic to take me down.

Anyway, as you`ve said... the server needs it. It could do with three in a row. If civic doesn`t follow me, I hope maraudian peppers the server with kalzul UWs.

And I apologize, eclips. I didn`t mean to seem to "brag". I was miffed that you completely ignored me as a big empire, and I was making a point. There IS a big empire doing something. I didn`t make this empire to just sit around and do nothing. If I did, I`d be out there handing you your rear end on the battlefield every 24 hours because I could afford any fleet I could possibly dream up.

My empire on ultra was created for one reason, and one reason alone: UW.

I`ve personally enjoyed trashing what has to be over half a billion in ship PR in the last several months. Unfortunately, you have now put starbases above your Fodders - odd that it took losing some much PR for you to figure that one out.

If my clusters have been exposed, it`s only because I`ve put everything into hitting you from below to reduce your PR knowing that I would not win, my fleet would be trashed and I`d have no turns left - no problem - going after borders was a distraction to my objectives at the time. I seem to be the ONLY one on Ultra who has tried to do anything to stop you...

As for fleeing when my clusters are threatened - well I won two of the three battles that I`ve had in the last 24 hours - not bad for someone who should be rusty after being in VM for so long, so rest assured I can fight for borders when it suits my needs. Do a UW where you really have to fight like I did and maybe we can talk...

Whining about "cheap viral ships" from someone who constantly boasts income of $50+ million per turn is extremely sardonic and the fact that someone with only 37 planets can generate so much cash has to be one of the biggest perversions in the game - note, I`m not faulting you here, I know you invested a lot of time, but it does highlight one of the biggest fundamental flaws in the game design.

Species, it cant be called "protecting" high ranked people when I hit you and you got starbases and fodders? Well, sometimes i hit 1 planet empires too - just for fun. This game is about fun - and this game is about attacking others.

Anyway, hope long term VM people are joining the fun. We need more playing empires.

just force restart all long time VM`ers and your problem is solved, they either get active or get lost, win/win situation

Considering the fact that the game itself is 4 years old... yeah, I`d call it permanent.

Regardless, I didn`t mean permanent as that you`re never going to come out. I said it because you come out, use your cheap viral ships and take a pot shot at me, then flee with your tail between your legs when your clusters get threatened. *shrugs* Permanent enough for me... you have no threats to you, you simply pose a threat to those who actually play the game.

It`s just so you grow complacent...and I`d hardly call two years permanent :)

Indeed, smiley, your suicide attacks to protect high-rank players is indeed hard to understand.

On the other side, these attacks were a textbook example, why virals pay a lot to less upkeep for pyth and angles.

speci, I pick on lots of empires - not only you. I get "angry" messages from lots of empires - not only you. As far as I remember you didnt understand the point of me attacking you? Well, this is an attackinggame and I do lots of attacks - failed and successful ones when i am active. If everyone else did the same we would have more fun - so I am doing my part :P

Smiley, your plan to pick on miners/young empires while beeing scared of virals/old empires is just the behavior which makes the game so poor.

And btw, getting angry messages is NOT an indication of beeing a great fighter. You claim you could do something to change the server, if you want, well, than actually DO it. Currently your acting seems more like you want to preserve the status quo.

Few of the tops want to waste their empires for nothing. Whats the fun to get your name on the "winners list" if you already got a few nicks there? I understand the tops perfectly well - and guess we all should spam Stephen with angry e-mails instad :)

Why do you leave responisibily to other all the time? You could do 2-3 UW attempts a week if you wanted to - and so each of your fedmambers. Make a contest like that instead?

I like fighting you guys as you get so angry when I attacks you - if I use 200% some of you guys spamms me with fun messages. I dont care if pervs are around or not - but always fun when people get angry when I attack them :)

As long as you guys tries to be most active around you will have most fedwars against you - it isnt harder than that. If we turned fedwar to a VM-fed or only inactive people we wouldnt get much fighting :)
