How about you stack defensive ships up top that suffer low casualties, and use the other 9 spots for things that are decent against MOW`s...... The combined firepower will let you take at least one colony. >_<

You (Maraudian) should have a sticky post on the forum explaining how exactly the battlesim is wrong.

Because you just pulling out "battlesim is wrong" card without explanation isn`t exactly reassuring.

Plus, it`ll save you all the explaining you`ll have to do to people when they ask what`s wrong I should`ve won.

Then all you need to do is send them the link on why the battlesim is wrong.

Because I think mow is unbeatable if you`re a miner spamming, according to battlesim. From 130% and below. Do the ships in gc magically do more damage (I assume your answer is yes, for how else could miner beat mow)? How?

Stacking is a possibility, assuming complete dummy destruction, and aggressive attack.

well, the long list of ships, available to miner, which can beat as spam a spam of mows from 130%pr is:
C.Aries.............. nope, nothing more, irrespective of the attack mode. Well, it is not so, as if the mow would be the only unbeatable ship for miners.

BTW, nothing against the admins, but just for my personal info, how does the desiction-making process of the ship-balancing works?

The majority of the players (who gave a response) cried, that the mow is overpowered, well, it got nerfed, now it is not super-overpowered any more but only heavily-overpowered. On the other side, (as precise as i could count), exactly 2 players requested, that the updated lictor is overpowerd and needed nerfing, and well, it got nerfed to a laughable degree.... just asking....

and thats probably correct species , A miner are a weak atacking race , mow is a reasonably good starbase , i doubt you could spam a 3 planet victory against it but thats not what this person is asking , hes asking how to simply win against it , and it is possible, even from below the MoW`s power rating

Hmmm. My only experience attacking MOWs are as a guardian, and that experience comes with seeing them being devastatingly ineffective, lol.

Maraudian says battlesim is inaccurate. This may be true, there`s some weird stuff going on with captured ships still doing damage... the battlesim deals with idealized situations. In those, mows win against miner spams.

Using stephenmath, I have no idea. Mostly because miners don`t attack me very often, and mow spams tend to have me losing 1 planet after a failed attack with no dp.

However, it is completely true that queens do not win from 130% aggressive. Or runners.

Maraudian, could you pls give an example? I battlesimed now every miner/neutral ship spam available against a mow-spam from 130%pr, and never reached a (or a close 3 colony worth) whipe, obviously i make something wrong...

The sims is a last resort. "you can alway`s try this" incase all other thing`s fail.

stop relying on a battlesim and learn from experience would be helpfull

its more than possible to beat man o war with A miner , although a spam of them would result in you having to spam also

Well....if you just want to kill them...you could always spam large runners at `em on agressive (you will lose, though it kills a fair bit of em)

The only "chemical" damagers that kill mows are the borrellys. Strafez does not work.

As for miner ships that can kill them from 130%, any attack stance...

No such ship exists. If you`re facing a pure mow spam, you might want to try queens and runners in your balanced stack to take potshots at it on aggressive. That might work. As opposed to spamming one ship, which will most definitely lose.

You could also counter.

But yeah, miner ships are terrible.

queens, epidote,....anything on aggressive......missle ships are least effective chem are most effective
