Maru is already uber race :D, you just haven`t found out enough competent marus...

No one said that miners can easily win against Guards. Why should they, if you pay for a paid account you expect to get so0mething good in return. However, it isn`t impossible either. Any fleet can be beat with the right combination of ships, spamming just makes the task that much easier since you know what your opponent has.

There will never be a perfect balance in this game, there will always be races who are better against other races. First people complain that Viral are too strong, now it is Guard, nerf them and mabey Maru will turn into an uber race. Instead of whining, lets enjoy the update. If you really want a game where every race is the same, go play UC.

In fact a lot better than ruby/tourm/hun li. The only disadvantage is the slow build rates of pike and hammerhead.

Miners are pwned by guards. End of story. By the way I don`t want to throw fuel in the fire but look at hammerhead, pyth and pike and the option to spam them o.O Pretty decent combo, isn`t it?

yea, Kusari, you are so right, a 130% pr flysch stack can indeed win against (but not not wipe) rubies, well if it attacks on aggressive. On normal or careful flysch loose, and on equal pr basis flysch always loose even on aggressive..... so yea, flysch "shred"s rubies....

Somehow i am a tiny little bit unhappy with the argument, that miners can defend against gurards easily, all miners have to do is to force the guard to attack with a bad stack on aggressive....

species382: One word for you: M.Flysh. A good stack of M flysh will shred rubies and tourms.

in fact, it is funny that somoene mention on Epidote spam when counter Ruby n Taurmaline. this remind me those day when i build ton of T.Garuda n P class. my fleet had no chance to win when Guardian spam on careful

guards dont have "decent ships", they have with the best ships available. And when i was guard (long ago) the 10+3 plantet limit didnt feel much more restrictive as a 12+1to2 planet limit you have as miner....

one cannot said that the race is easy or hard based solely on the ships that the race can build.. one have to look at the overall pic.. for guard for example, its hard because the income is low.. very low in fact.. with little credits, its hard to build a full ten stacks due to the high upkeep it will incurred.. oso guard needs to build neutral ship in order to compensate some of the bad ship that guard have when building full balance stack.. the cost will be high and is a strain to the limited resources that guard have..

Then the high based pr which will posed a disadvantage when fighting... hence to minimise this disadvantages, guard have to climb high pr to fight.. again this pose a big strain the guard limited resources..

also guard have oni ten colonies to fight.. one will find themselve low on border easily when fighting and losing for more than twice in a row..

overall with all the disadvantages that guard have and oni few decent ship to compensate, guard is truely a hard race..

Miners are supposed to be a easy race, vrial and guard are supposed to be hard races, read the manual.

I personally do not see, what is hard on a race, which has torums/rubys/huns or the collected 10 best ships from four races...

Yea, the new lictor is sooo great, ok it does no damage, and has low stamina to sustain damage, but Miners will definitely dominate the server tomorrow. And the starbases are also very good, well except against hercs, Tyrs, nirvs,...... or the so beloved pyth-spams running arround....

Well, i do not claim, that you can not rock with miners, but doing so is definitely harder and more frustratimg as with any other race. One could think ok ,whats the matter, but you recognize the matter, if you want to buy minerals or CGs the next time....

guards weak to miners? What is this all about? Miners are supposed to be weak to kinetic, and generally weak!

What`s up with you miners complaining about not being able to defend vs guard spam (or any other for that matter). Well you`re not supposed to! The best you should reasonably expect is to lose 1/2 colonies by defending with a 10-stack. If you lictor/flysch spam etc, expect to lose! You`d think you`d be happy with the improved lictor, the unbelievably ranged hoko and lakko ... but no ... keep complaining, lol.

If you want better ships go terran, viral, or guard, possibly even collective/maru. You get what you ask for as miner -- easily 10-20mil +/turn income as miner with decent infra and some effort.

And don`t say I have no clue as to how to play miner -- I`ve completed missions as miner on GC/normal etc etc.

id say give em all guard updates make all their ships strong..then let them have only 6-7 stacks to battle and force em to spam..then other races can beat them by flanking..

this will give other races more chances of winning in counter but still weak in attacking em first.

but i doubt this will work for everybody..

I`m a little bit more experienced with AMiner and if I would play against my guardian empire, I would so easily thrash that empire in the long run ... maybe some attacks (spam or other) would get through, but I would take pleasure to use my resources to outplay my oppponent (use the tactic we Finns learned from our dear neighbor, Soviet union - just put more metal / men to frontline than your opponent can ever have :)

.. as a summary from my part, spamming is a fact of life (at least for some players) like Kusari stated, but I don`t agree that opportunity makes the thief - at least I like the new guardian ships and I will use them as soon as I can afford them. However, nerfing some of the ships may turn guardians more defensive in nature .. or at least I would play them more defensively.

epidote spam.. livid and licotr spams work ok... so does calcite...

ive given up tyring to stack.. takes too long, and you lose to spammers too often

epidote spam, and hoping, the guard attacks on aggressive....

marauders on slow spam pyth of course, waiting a week to get maxed on turns and then going up to 3-5 mil PR is impossible to anything but pyth/angel spam with marauder unless you want to risk wasting all the turns...

well, Kusari, just the old bad argument, "you just have to stack right" and everything will be fine....then tell me, how shall i (as miner) stack to defend against a ruby/tourm spam..
