You need to keep a +ve income click on income at the top of your screen and there you will see an income breakdown.
Most probable cause if that you have ships and are paying upkeep on them from your per turn income
My reccomendation is to disband the ships and build up commercial on your planets and research commercial infrastructure research to make it more effective. This will increase the money you get per turn.
