Ending VM Early?

I`m going on a long vacation, but in the middle of the vacation I might have access to a friends internet connection. Can I come out of VM early if I want too?

actually you can leave vacation mode by restarting your empire

however that is the only way

No you carn`t, once you have activated Vm, you will have 0 turns until the end of it.
