Friends/Foes of the Normal server, It`s hard to say it - but I`m done. It was a fun run from December 2004 until now. If Stephen puts out an interesting update I may dabble around some to see how the game dynamics have changed - but for now it is time to say goodbye. Its been months since I`ve contributed anything real to the game - but hopefully this goodbye UW (either failed or sucessfull) will be a breath of fresh air for many.
I realize that a UW is a burden on many who have proudly collected vast sums of credits/minerals. This is especially so for plundering races that have little per-turn income. So, while this is a neutral UW, aligned with no major/minor feds on the server, I will create a shell federation during the attempt - and while space remains will permit entry to any player who wants "some" additional shielding for their reserves.
To all past and current members of the R{}N Intelligence network, I`m afraid the publication has seen its last days. While anonymous to most, know that your actions and loyalty have accomplished great things on this server - and the fun we have had shaping the past course of events on Normal can not be measured in clusters or credits. :-)
I must warn my allies/friends - this UW is going to be poorly defended. My new son (who is doing great!), new job and new house (in the process of building one) leaves me with maybe a couple minutes a day to maintain a UW stack. Nor do I have the time to organize/coordinate a proper defense. So I am going the low-tech route, a one shot deal. And this is it - no turning back - I am going to cast my colonies into the inferno before I push the button - and walk away.
