how much land should i invest on a balanced terran colony with 500 land units? currently, i have 70 in land and 85 in agricultural.

Keep woking on both commercial and ag until you are out of land, the more commercial the better, but build enough ag to feed your population, use the production as you spend turns as your guage on what to build on, i.e. if you are negative on food build ag.
