Combat --- needs some work

I did an behindysis of ships and built up what looked like a decent fleet with six stacks, as suggested by KOR guide...and got stomped by a rediculous stack by player "prolohz" made up of only a few ships. Naturally, I deleted my stack, and built one to match him. He had found a way to get DP so I just waited unitl next attack.

FieryGallacticos attacks with HUGE stack made up of the most powerful ships, and FAILS!!

I then counterattack with this puny fleet, and WIN!! --- Stephen this needs to be fixed. It isn`t realistic game play.

Heres the counter attack ships... amazingly I win.

Arachnid, ya got very lucky as your garus were good against his flysch, other than that, your runners and fodders server as fodder to protect your garus

rofl... do u really think that 400 Garuda can kill any 25 - 30 Battleships or Dreadnaught? yeah, try that on Pyth Battleships, M.Lyth Dreadnaught, Nirvana Dreadnaught. or even i put a smaller ships such as G.Agate Figther?

most powerful ships? give me a break, except the KalZul K class, i dont really see a threat on ships LOL

arachnid, that would totally undermine the skill of which it takes to stack in this game, its suggestions liek that that have run this gae down. now go get a brain and then try to find better ideas, till then, learn to play the game before you decide the battle system is flawed.

GC is an abstract depiction of space warfare (which, in case you did not know, has not happened in human history yet). Thus, it is not reliable. The battle system does work though, so why complain?

I mean, if I were the terrans, I`d command all my ships to kill the main cluster of enemy ships, not sit around wasting time with 1 small fodder. Hell, I`d just nuke the jesus out of their fancy fleet with long range missiles. With scrambling fields so they can`t just shoot the missiles out of the sky.

I just read all these responses. What a bunch of nitwits. Running 4 Strafez ships which are nothing but toys, plus 400 Destroyers of any kind against 28 Battleships, 35 Dreadnaughts (of 2 types) should result in a loss, not a victory.

I think victory should not depend on damage done alone. If the defender still has ships to fight with, it should be `inconclusive` and require a second strike. Also, the stacks should be set by RANGE, not by PR. Why would point blank range (1) be sitting at the rear of formation? By DEFAULT it seems they should be at the front. Just a suggestion.

I`m just too lazy to build sloop to fight against proholtz. Always spamming flysch, he is.

Garuda, sloop, pike... major damage against miner ships, unless the miner actually wants to use the G. class`s energy resistance (*Zenith laughs)

yea, lets fix the battle style, remove all these freaking shields and weapon types, remove all tactical moves and other useless fun-stuff. I would suggest a new battle style: just compare pr, who has more winns, the other fails, that sounds more reasonable......doesnt it?
