what is power rating for?

powerating is more of a result it is for telling a persons power
once over 5,000 power rating you leave np , planets are 1k pr each upwards ( depending on infra ) then ships increase your power also , so power rating determains your overall current power in the rankings page , this will be veiwed by other empires who may choose to atack you or calculate things such as how big you fleet is , what ships your using & so on
power rating is required for certain missions but other than that power rating is a very common 24/7 but fairly uninportant thing
