Enslaving...?

I`m looking for peoples` opinions on enslaving.

Here are some facts:

You get to come from a 150% advantage when you enslave. Some would say this is counter-balanced by the need to take out 60% of the other persons fleet...

You cannot attack your master.

Freedom means climbing to 10x your masters power. If you are enslaved by a high planet count master this can be nigh impossible - or else so expensive as to be ridiculous. Particularily on the slower servers.

Personally I haven`t bothered with it - I find it to be an overly potent weapon that does little but inflict continual harm on the enslavee and builds the enslaver`s ego. However, I am seeing that others do not share my view so I would have no choice but to enslave such empires.

Thoughts?

enslaving is just part of the game go out and enslave all you want nobody is going to stop you but the other persons fleet

Enslaving... It`s like probing. I consider it a strategy, one of the options.

If you`re chivarlous, a knight in the heart lover with an honour and ego, don`t use it. I bet you machos just love great stands, one-against-the-galaxy. Based on the power of stacking and cunning and might.

But don`t belittle others, that`s just another stategy.

BTW. 10 times master`s PR? On faster servers it`s often to little for the master to earn anything but peanuts...

You`re afraid you won`t be able to attack your master? Neither can he, he won`t get any borders from you.

I said it elsewhere, but i say it again. Everything is possible in love and war. Unless you`re not fighting to win.

And, jeez, wtf? You want another option removed? If you don`t like my words, read, say, interview with .... It _was_ livelier in the olden days. And NOT only because we don`t have the updates. Updates, pff, what next? A holy grail?
So much is illigal nowadays - because losers who could not catch up alone with well organized feds felt it was unfair to transfer, unfair to plot together and well, frankly anything that would offer synergy effects to cooperation.

I can agree that a label may be unfortunate - "slavery", but it`s a feature... So few of those these days...

Terrans and miners make too much cash anyways, so i could care less.

However it would be cool if guards could enslave virals. Share the wealth a little :)

Plunder half your colonies!? What in earth does that accomplish!?

You have to build to TEN TIMES your master`s power - not one tenth his power... -.-

lol yea plunder half your planets and you be free lol, sounds like something a mean master told his newbie slave(who perhaps happened to be GK? :P)

*slaps GK o.O

This is supposed to be a hypothetical thread... not a specific case...
Your advantage there wasn`t even a full 1.5 so it has nothing to do with any wars.

Let`s define "great enslaver". My understanding is he goes about with a single planet and enslaves people using the 150% advantage. THAT IS SOOOO EASY! I COULD DO THAT WHILE SLEEPING! There`s nothing great about that - what`s great is leveraging your own skills and knowledge of the game and your opponent against your own base power and a limited 1.3 power advantage. When you can consistently win under those conditions - now that`s great.

Also to add, i beleive, you can always plunder half you colony count and then you can free yourself. Or try asking your master. That somtimes does work when you have a good relationship with your master.

Ok here are my oppions.

I actually didnt know that you can attack from 150% thats new to me...
I used fed war bonus, (the war that you started, uber)...

It also gives you a lot of money, boasting your income, which is great :D...

Sagacity is a great enslaver one of the best, so it shows that there are many players who use this stratergy to make money...
