A Good Market

Its been an age old problem we have that minerals are always insufficient. the food prices fluctuates widely and creates uncertainty in switching races. consumer goods are almost never produced enough while raw materials are most of the time way oversupplied. clearly by allowing the market to operate in such a way now we are bound to have these problems persisting.

the root of this problem wont be solved by the current used method of overpriced and oversupplied minerals. i believe not many new players can afford to stay long outside dp using those minerals.
whats the best way to solve the problem? i suggest the most direct way to tax the rich so they wont rapidly get richer and widen the income gap indefinitely. in this way they cant manipulate and buy out the market easily too. another way is to simply try and increase the number of players in gc. in a competitive market its harder to distort prices. simple as that but yet hard to achieve without the game operators willingness.

What you think abt this idea?

How about we force people to become miners with specialised minerals? no? but it would be an alternate solution

DreamlandReformed: Gaurdian have a beyond extreem low mineral income , it would take many hours just to be able to build a few of one ship type without the market , it would then take hours of waiting just to find minerals that some lame big empire will most likely camp even though they dont need it. preventing others from actually playing

blackmarket is needed end of story

taxes r 2 complicated

I dont agree with this, people ar ebeing taxe dfor their hard work but an intresting "robin-hood" idea

im thinking a better way to implement taxation is by using specific taxes. the more u buy the more u are taxed. this could possibly increase the costs of mineral hoarding but we noe all these are juz discussion and most surely that game creator wont be looking at this.

Interesting idea....apart from this bit--->"another way is to simply try and increase the number of players in gc." You really think our old friend Stephen wants to help this game get more players?? LOL.

Other than that a worthwile post!

caps on minerals are good, Maraudian what about a guard ;) for me the upkeep to fight at 3 mil pr is alot less then to build that high
A AcepacOP
i disagree with the caps on minerals. what abt those who are planning for a uw? they definitely need a lot of those.

how bout making the BM availible right after a mineral is baught out like on uc so people dont have to refresh
R Razgriz
one evry easy way i see to fix it is to simply lower the cap on minerals, that would force the rich to not only sell theres but also leave them alone on the market

I think the blackmarket prices are fine, the only problem with it is that alot of the time there is no minerals posted. Maybe some of the guides should be able to post the BM minerals seeing that there are only two admins that i know of and its hard for them to keep up considering everything else they have to deal with.

Actaully the Food swings are a recent problem. I`ve been playing for more than 2 years now and this is the first I`ve ever seen the food market remain unstable for more than a few weeks.

taxing rich is verry interesting idea, i have a thoughts on this too, but as update will never come have no reson to waste time (mine and yours)
M Maraudian
blackmarket needed , end of story , anyone can afford double the price minerals , anyone who says otherwise deserves slapping , because if you cant afford the minerals at double price , then frankly you cant afford to build the ships yet ( without killing yourself through accsidental debt )
